The Foley Arms in Malvern is also bigger than my house, and I don't live there, either. I'm from the downtrodden spud-bashing Foleys of Erin's Isle, rather than the bloated plutocrats of the lesser English aristocracy, I'm sorry to say. I've been retired eleven years, officially, but just nine in reality. I retired for the first time from the Army in 2000, and subsequently another twice.

Foley road is the posh road in claygate I am 78 descended from the duke of Devon 1140
and from Courtenay in France , but in reality just a poor pleb. Oh and 50% good old Anglo Saxon I guess , yes got my gas and electric forecast. Gas £974 going up to £1685. Electric £874 to £1227 we need to work off grid in the woods I am 79 on 22nd so I put a bid on a ml rifle at Holts , as a present to me , may or may not win it. I guess life is getting hard both sides of the pond. Not to mention Ukraine

I wish you well

We went to a nice (and cold>15°) meat shoot Sunday then afterwards started making balls and cutting patches. There's local shoots almost every weekend now up untill October!
During one of the deep freezes I got to over thinkin the shootin season and came up with this materials list.

27 shoots w/.45 cal.=

459 balls(17 shots avg.)
@143gr ea =
65,637gr ÷ 7k =
9.3 lbs of lead

50gr bp per shot=
22,940 gr ÷ 7k =
3.27 lbs 3f bp

2gr bp per shot=
918gr = .13 lbs 4f bp

Bunch of flints +
Pile of patches +
Gallons of spit.

Steamed out the dents on my TC stock overhaul project.

Patched one ragged hole, the glue line is more obvious than I had hoped but I can live with it.

In my head I can still feel the rush of hurling my body into the abyss with reckless abandon but the reality is, I can still feel the aches and pains of hurling my body into the abyss with reckless abandon, lol. The only regrets I really have was not doing a few things I should have done in my 20s. The only reason I regret them is it's so hard to do them now in my 60s (but I am still doing things, lol)View attachment 125506

That picture was in Kauai a couple months ago. We rented that bike for the day and rode to the top of Wyemeha canyon. The bike is a 2021, it only had like 150 miles on it. It was so polished and refined I didn't even feel like I was riding a Harley, lol. This is my daily rider, it's an 07 FLHT, they're gonna bury me with that bike. My first new bike was a 76 XLT Sportster. I was never so glad to be done with a bike as that one. It was just not a good bike! I've owned maybe a dozen bikes, some before and some after but I just clicked with the glide. I've been from Canada to Mexico with this bike.

Still in the design phase it will be a while until it is finished, had to stop and wait on a ft. megis axe to arrive as it will be incorporated into the bag. The wife is on a cruise with our granddaughter as it is just the lab and me at home thought it would be a good time to start. It will be lined with a period correct material and the main body is elk. I make all my own accountments and bags find it a relaxing job. Also, I have a very difficult time with the computer posting items, perhaps when the bag is done, I can get the girl to help with posting. Where you at in the Line state.

Harford County. I am making most (if not all) of my accoutrements also. The bag? My wife bought for me and to be perfectly honest, I don't think I could do better. It's just great but everything else will be all me.
