Made a speed loader for my Double .58 with Real bullets/Prb. Also 4 caps under rubber band. I’ll probably add few patches under rubber band for spit patch. Couple brass cartridges (375Weatherby) filled with Black powder are sufficient for charges

Well, I went out to where I do my shooting, shot my Keibler smr and my Uberti colt 3rd model dragoon. The SMR shot splendidly with my home made black and the dragoon was awesome as well. I believe the lock on the Keibler is the best I have ever shot and the dragoon is a beast. I really do think the 3rd model dragoon can compare with a modern 357 magnum. It really hits that hard in self defense distances.

I drove out to where I do my shooting and shot my Kibler smr. I also took my Uberti 3rd model dragoon, both guns shot splendidly. I shot the SMR with my homemade black and shot the dragoon with with pyrodex P. The home brew is for my flintlock rifle and musket and the pyrodex is for my Caplocks only. The SMR shot in a very satisfying manner. It is such good feeling of shooting a rifle that you put together ( from a kit ) with powder that is homemade. The dragoon is an awesome pistol, at self defense distances I think it could compare to a 357 magnum. If you doubt me, try shooting one yourself and then make your decision.

going to be at the Yuma Territorial Long Rifles rondezvous for the next three days. 13, 14, 15, 16th of January. Weather should be mostly good. Adair range 17 miles north west of Yuma on Hwy 95.

Working on a couple of Underhammer actions/designs. One action, on loan from my bud MRW...to see if I can improve upon it.
the other is my own design/mod, borrowing from the Cook style of lock.

Reviewing the dimensions on the Ruger Old Army for a flat or hollow based mold.
.453 body and .459 front band would be mighty good.

Let a young friend shoot one of my BP rifles today Was his first time and both of us had a blast. Started him out on cutting his own patches, then pre-cut patch and ended up shooting PA Conicals. Jumped the powder load up to 80gr for the conicals and that opened his eyes up. The young lad did pretty good on the 50yd targets scoring in the 40's for 5rds fired. Then ended up training him the proper way to clean and store a rifle. He asked where I was able to learn all this stuff, showed him this forum and that it is all right there.

Good for you. It's always good to hear when someone mentors a young person, especially when it evolves our type of shooting and hunting sport. Good job
