I worked on my old "hybrid" squirrel rifle.
Started years ago with a cut down Douglas 36 barrel and a square stock blank.
I got the main cuts made, the barrel inlet, the nose cap installed, the ramrod channel finished and a large siler lock kit inlet and polished up. Then got derailed on the project; for years
I still need to harden the internals to the lock...
I've been scouring the BP sites and got enthused, so....
Today, I drilled the stock to barrel pins and the two upper thimbles. It had been sitting in the corner for years with cable ties holding it together. Lucky I found all the parts except the drum.
I also got the Davis set trigger bar "almost" inlet. I need to take it deeper.
I also need to find my old jar of inlet black or get some candles, inlet the trigger bar by gosh and by golly.
I also broke the back inch off of the trigger bar; I thought they were made from better steel than that.
I was trying to bend it just a smidgen and it cracked. Oh, well. I'll get creative.
I forgot; do you have to harden the Davis set trigger kit? At least the sears?
I just took it up again. The project is about....well quite a few years old. I lost my workshop a few years back and it just set me back.
