Finishing up draw filing the barrel on the SMR. Thought I was through, but closer inspection showed a number of spots that needed more work, marked them with a sharper. Had to take a break from it, my lower back was killing me from working bent over.

Finished the draw filing and put a 3rd coat of T&T oil on the stock. Actually heated the oil up a bit in the toaster oven. Rubbed it in about 15 minutes. The photos show it with the excess oil still on it, that will sit for an hour, then wiped off. I’ll do at least one more coat but I’m going to let this one dry for two days, just too cold. I’m pleased overall with the draw filing, but I still found a few more spots to touch up tomorrow. In a couple of the photos you can see the ram rod. Put a thinned maple stain on it, plus T&T.

I can't wait until I can build one of my own! I build ARs all day long, but this is so.ething wild. I will find the time and then you'll have to tell me how!!!
Thanks for sharing!

I cast up sixty or so Lee Target Minies yesterday, using a mold that I was able to purchase from a local BP shooter. The mold drops pure lead (well, soft anyway) at .5765, weighing 470gns. In the Parker Hale three bander, I worked up loads starting from 35gns FFFG Wano BP, rounding out at 50gns. I was rather content with the final result, 50gns FFFG. As is my practice close in, due to original sight configurations, I used a fine sight to bring the minie on central target. My eyes are 66 this coming August.

So, I have a nice german optic 25X spyglass that resides in my possibles bag. Problem is it has a shinny blue leather cover. No es histórico!
Well, I fixed that by making a more appropriate cover for the spyglass. Now it looks more at home with the other early 19th century gear in my possibles bag.

Very nice!

I purchased 5 pounds of Swiss 2FG powder from Maine Powder House. I wanted for my .69 Charleville and my 1962 Richmond Carbine. Already have a mess of 3FG.

Thinking about buying a conversion cylinder for my Rogers & Spencer revolver. I already have one for my Remington.
Any pros/cons? Yeah...it's my decision, but would like to be talked out of it.

Finished installing the breech plug on my .50 cal Kentucky pistol build. Thanks go out to Oregon Barrel Company for having one in stock. Been waiting for 18 months for ToW and they're still out of stock.

This made me laugh a while ago. I don’t remember what I was working on, but my sweet wife sent this to me as encouragement.
