Punched more holes in paper…

Played with my Soddy .36 this morning, While rummaging through the safe for my Charleville that an old boy was maybe looking to buy I dug out my new to me defarbed Pedersoli 1795 re stamped1810 Harpers ferry. It fits me better than the Charleville. A little longer length of pull and a little more drop in the stock. So, while its out of the safe I figured I might as well put it though its paces this afternoon. That 8" plate seemed forever far away and small trying to hit it with this musket. I guess its a good thing, kinda got tired of setting up the stand everytime I did manage to hit it. That big ball does pack a wallop. Living the dream boys, living the dream. Seemed like it took a long time to get here though. Oh well, Good times.

A Tale of Two Foxes. A wonderful morning shooting at the local range; windy as usual for September, blowing from left to right across the target set at 50 metres from the bench. I tested 2 loads in the Parker Hale 53 using the same sight picture and point of aim. In both I used a small 320gn dead soft minie, one lot of ten paper patched, the other lot lubed in beeswax and lard - a shoot off of sorts. For all loads I used 50gns of Wano FFFg with 50gns of semolina over each charge. Interesting result. This time the lubed lads win! Who knows what another shoot off may reveal when the wind disappears. Nice holes, huh?

Cheers, Pete

Evicted? Evicted! Entertaining language choice, deerstalkert! Thanks for posting.

One day, we're all going to be evicted.

Kind regards, Pete

Check it out.

A 100 percent carbon copy of an original Kentucky Pistol.

I doubt you could tell the difference between this and an original if laid side by side.

Can they make these billboards any bigger? I can hardly see them. Much filing to do.

Will look mo betta decked out in iron. Now I can use my iron CVA Mountain pistol trigger guard.

I’ve had that same pistol in my safe for about 30 years and have no idea what it is or what caliber. I inherited it and just never did anything with it. I just checked and apparently it is also .22 short. Can you give me a brief history of it, date range, value maybe?
