Looking good!made a bunch of walnut shavings and dust. hard work turning a big piece of wood into thousands of little pieces of wood.
this plank came to me just 1 1/2 inches thick. wasn't sure i could make it work but i seem to have it on the run. following (loosely) Wm. Buchele's Golden age pattern. i may even work up the nerve to do some carving .

thank you Bob.Looking good!
I'm 14.75 l.o.p. so 15 wouldn't be to much of a stretch but I'm not you. I wish my Kibler SMR had a bit more l.o.p.Triggers are in. definitely going to move the butt plate forward. Apparently the individual who started it didn't realize that the triggers should be in before installing the butt plate to get the right distance for trigger pull, or his knuckles dragged on the ground.
Did ya lose it?Searched for a small caliber squirrel rifle
Lol! No, never had it to begin withDid ya lose it?
Dang ive always wondered how a person does a dovetail. But i aint going try that for sure.i can get in a lot of trouble with just a screw driver lol. I really enjoy just looking at what you guys post on here. Thank yaw very muchI didn’t get to the coning project today. Too hot out there for a three hour project! Instead I did a dovetail with the tool that @Century to late loaned me. I'm a terror with files in my hands but this tool tamed me down. Ended up with a nice straight dovetail.

The other half of dovetail cutting is a good safe file. It will only cut on one side just smooth on two sides. Spend the money on a nice one. I believe I got mine from Brownells.Dang ive always wondered how a person does a dovetail. But i aint going try that for sure.i can get in a lot of trouble with just a screw driver lol. It never occured to me to use a jig. Is that something you made or can it be purchased? The other half of dovetail cutting is a good safe file. It will only cut on one side just smooth on two sides. Spend the money on a nice one. I believe I got mine from Brownells.
I purchased mine from a fellow on the ALR website, it’s exactly like the one shown above. Mine has been hardened so much that I use caution when pre cutting the slots with a hacksaw. Won’t leave a mark on the jig, hard on the blade. It never occured to me to use a jig. Is that something you made or can it be purchased?
