I didn’t get to the coning project today. Too hot out there for a three hour project! Instead I did a dovetail with the tool that @Century to late loaned me. I'm a terror with files in my hands but this tool tamed me down. Ended up with a nice straight dovetail. 😁

Triggers are in. definitely going to move the butt plate forward. Apparently the individual who started it didn't realize that the triggers should be in before installing the butt plate to get the right distance for trigger pull, or his knuckles dragged on the ground.

I'm 14.75 l.o.p. so 15 wouldn't be to much of a stretch but I'm not you. I wish my Kibler SMR had a bit more l.o.p.

The other half of dovetail cutting is a good safe file. It will only cut on one side just smooth on two sides. Spend the money on a nice one. I believe I got mine from Brownells.

It never occured to me to use a jig. Is that something you made or can it be purchased?
I purchased mine from a fellow on the ALR website, it’s exactly like the one shown above. Mine has been hardened so much that I use caution when pre cutting the slots with a hacksaw. Won’t leave a mark on the jig, hard on the blade.
