Well spoken. I had a bad virus so having a weeks rest from cancer drugs. , but not up to doing much . Well if I peg it at 81 it’s been a good life, as they say , if only my nose would stop running



I did make a Pritchard type bullet mould for my .36 double rifle The bullet came out a bit larger but 30 seconds with a file brought it to .340. So that gave me two layers of ,003 till paper. The lack of information has been a pain on this double rifle , why does it have flip sights to 400 yards and very heavy barrels , it’s like a .357 magnum. Ha ha I have also been messing with jacketed bullets they are ok. But I wanted to get back to paper patching. Of course it’s just messing around as the police took away my gun licence , any excuse , when I was interviewed they just kept saying “we don’t believe you “. Oh well my hope is France, it’s swarming with hogs so they tell me

Yesterday went to town. Found Tru Oil for $5 and super blue cor $7 at Walmart and bought two of each. I coned a 45 barrel using Joe's coning tool. Wasn't too bad of a job and polished the bore after I was done. A few days ago I made a short starter. Never made one before. Ended up brass blacking the bullet casings. That's a 9mm and a 5.56 with the neck cut off. Used a piece of old rattling antler and an old chewed up ramrod.

Put a TC peep on my TC Hawken. Like it better than the Williams. Drilled the center hole out just a bit

Last night posted a CVA .50 1" barrel for sale or trade.

Went to the range and got to know my new .45 Kibler Southern Mountain Rifle built by "Olskool" he did a beautiful build in walnut. After cleaning her I returned to filing and shaping a new flat priming horn. Woke up to heavy rain so I will spend the day casting round balls and more filing and shaping my priming horn. Maybe the weather tomorrow will be better and I can hit the range again.

Radius the butt plate and finish the barrel and it will be done.
and the best part!!!
Pull the gun up with your eyes closed and open them, you are looking thru the sights!

I found a screw to replace that elusive pedersoli nose cap screw for my pistol at a local mom and pop store. So happy!

Well, a little more waxing (very close to done now) and draw filed two flats and the muzzle (to take all the edges off my decorations).

I'd have pressed on with the barrel, but the only table I can clamp to is in the kitchen...so between folks wanting to eat and my having to get ready for a volunteer medic shift, I figure it was a good start.

I'll get out the milling marks in the next couple days, then I may break out the sandpaper and work on a bit of a polish...not military style, but a nice, clean bright finish.

You are right, I couldn't wait to shoot it. It's been 3 years getting finished.
I am shooting hardened scrap lead, and it seems to be doing fine, after going to the thicker patches.
edit, 1 in 90 twist. Made for shooting hard lead with tapered paper cartridges.

Ordered some more black powder. Did some quick browsing for free hazmat specials, but finding none real quick, just ordered from Grafs because they had the Swiss I wanted and because in my experience they're reliable. Hazmat fee stretched over five pounds really isn't all that bad.

Thinned down the ramrod for the Kebler and refinished it. Works fine now going all the way into the stock. The patch box was a bit tight and got that corrected also.

made a new trigger for the walnut Kentucky. did a bit of shaping. started polishing metal. that's it.
going to inlet an eagle above the cheek bars .

I had not thought of a scope, but it would fit well on this style of rifle.

It rained so I spent a little time at the lathe. Made a cleaning jag and fouling scraper out of brass for the .54 Kebler.
