Went out this afternoon with the fowling pice to look for small critters after a morning of snow! Then the freezing rain started! Had ice accumulating on my barrel! Came home! Saw 3 deer, kicked up an owl and one dove! Tried a shot at the dove but only had a half hearted flash in the pan! Darn freezing rain! Now to clean the fowling pice!

well I give u an A for effort. at least u tried. good luck to ya next time

Breeched my barrel solid against the stock and got my tang inlet leaving about 1/32" at the end of the tang. Years ago I had a factory gun blow a big chunk of wood out of the stock at the end of the tang from recoil because it was to tight.
A lesson I've never forget.

.54 cal Tip Curtis flintlock.

65-70 yards double lung shot, he ran about 100 yards..

It has become a tradition that my son and I go duck hunting on New Year’s Day. I’m using my Pedersoli 10 gauge to good effect. Today we collected 9 ducks and called it a day; that’s a lot of good eating. My little Border Terrier has made about 30 retrieves so far this season. Hope y’all have the new year off to a good start as well. View attachment 372473

Your dog is tough! Itd be fun to see a vid of him in action. I follow a guy on IG that has a Jack Russel that is blood thirsty go getter. Gator_theduckdog

So cool.

Stykbow said- that right antler is boss! I wouldve shot it just for that.

When i was younger, I passed on the same buck three days in a row. Knicknamed him Pasta Fork because the his right antler looked just a pasta fork facing forward. So a 3x8 maybe? I wish I had him today. He was totally unique.

Spent the day digging out from the snow storm we got yesturday and today. 8 1/2 inches total which is a lot for us here in. Kentucky. I have longer driveway so it took a while with the side by side and plow. In other words, I had no time to do anything remotely close to muzzleloading.
Same here my friend. I spent 5 hours on my tractor moving snow here in S.E Indiana.
Somewhere between 10 and 12 inches depending on where you measure.
Now I've gotta make a path on my 1/8 mile lane to my range so I can do the monthly shot. 👍

Yea, at 65-70 yards I couldn’t tell what kinda head gear he was wearing…

I was cocked and waiting when he cleared the thicket I squeezed the trigger..

Now the more I think about what happened, I think I may have shot the smaller of two bucks..

The buck I saw at first was larger in body size & had a larger rack..🤷‍♂️

I think this deer got bumped along bye the larger deer when it went behind the thicket..👍

Shot for the first time in a month on the home range. Three targets from 30-50 yards, the furthest one is roughly the size of a tennis ball. What is nice tho is I can shoot from anywhere elevation changes and angles for about 90 degrees. I went 9 for 11 with Mike Brooks .40 smr, .389, .018, 45 gr 3f Swiss.

I lost some trees in a windstorm. Time to do some yardwork.
