Got myself a nice piece of curly maple from Woodcraft to try out various stains and finishes for my Kibler SMR recently ordered. $15 for that little piece, can you imagine? But it's got nice figuring and can be cut into quarters which will provide eight different variations of stain and finish. Should be overkill.

I suppose you could call that "muzzle loading stuff I did today" though no muzzleloaders were directly involved. Yet.

About ready to reassemble the lock for my Colonial that I've revived after that shipping mishap. Brazed screws into old holes and drilled new ones, so had to redo the rusting and had a hell of a time getting the browning to even out. I think I got the plate matched good enough to be happy with finally. It's a little bit rougher than the cock but that's fine by me.
