Hello , maybe a good spot for this, I came across the ladder sight on eBay uk. I thought it was expensive at £130 buy it now . till I looked at Pedrosoli sights £250. The seller said grandfather won the 1904 Commonwealth games with it . What I did not realise it did not go in the usual place but just in front of the but plate. Seems you target shoot’s it lying on your back ,so I had trouble making it fit. It’s more like a bit of Victorian memrobillia. Anyway it’s where I want it on a 1885 Swiss rifle , never fired it, I just collect these days. Hope you enjoy

Good job. I did the same for an 1860 Uberti. Made mine from a nickel coin and it solved the problem.

Shot my Frontier caplock this morning, 4F and breezy, but had a good outing. Rang some 50 to 130 yds gongs.

Worked on refining my rear sight I made a few days ago out of a 3/8" bar stock. Trial fired my own brand of pew dust. Going to have to read up on bluing for the new sight.

I might get down in that position, getting back up wouldn’t be purty.

My oldest brother shot a deer at 90 yards with his Jonathan Browning mountain rifle using this position.

I'm in the process of browning the barrel for my barn gun. I've always used beechwood Casey's plum brown in the past but ran out. This time I'm using Laurel Mountain Forge browning solution and am really pleased so far.

I took a traditions kit gun that I built last week to the range along with a Philadelphia derringer that I rehabed and a new (to me) 1858 to the range.
I also turned a 1/2 pound is FF to FFFF in a ball mill.
