Well, this isn't just today; pretty much every day a little bit until I'm finished, so don't intend to post "what stuff I did today" because I just keep working on a bit at a time each and every day. as now today with more barrel draw-filing:

If I do only one flat a day, I'm doing something "muzzleloading" on that day.

Note the "flag" on the very end of the tang so it catches my attention and is less likely to get snagged or bumped. I have broken a SMR tang once. (If you really want to dig into my long-past posting history. But please don't, as it's not very edifying.) But a mistake once made and subsequently a method to avoid repeating. I hope.
Coast, knowledge costs money and blood. You smart.

Went to a local thrift store and browsing the book selection a book on the history of St. Louis from 1764 to 1865 was on the shelf. At $5.50 it was coming home with me. Then the clerk only charged me $140.

Quick scanning of a few sections uncovered the details of the 1780 Battle of St. Louis. Perhaps the most significant of the battles of the Rev War fought west of the Mississippi River. Details of the Hawken brothers. It emphasized that of the six Hawken brothers, five were gunsmiths and Sam and Jake established the gun shop in St. Louis. Had a few anecdotes about the guns. Some may have some basis in fact. Some were legends that Sam may have repeated during his newspaper interview when he was 80.

You are interested in those empty plastic containers..??
None of them are metal anymore.

I throw them away all the time.

I store a couple of things that require HDPE (Recycle code #2) containers.

Most used plastic contianers are either #1 or #5. HDPE bottles are surprisingly uncommon and tend to be fragile when you do find them (Like milk cartons). and amazingly expensive when you try to buy them as unused empties.
