They might reduce cost for the manufacturer but they sure as heck have not reduced cost for the buyer. I am tired of cost cutting procedures that don't save the consumer money. They don't lower the cost of the product, just put more money in their pockets
You aren't a business owner.
First, you assume that the cost hasn't been reduced to the buyer, when in fact the price might be even higher had not the change been made. So if a price remains the same it is not an indication that savings were not passed on.
Second, you assume it's the purpose of a company to save the customer money... the purpose of company is to make the owner money. Savings or Discounts may be a selling point to induce a sale, but often discount sellers buy in bulk, then reduce the price, but they don't equally reduce the price compared to their bulk purchase... thus you pay a little less, and they make a lot more. Smaller manufacturers, and smaller stores often can't buy in bulk.
Third, you assume it's simply up to the company when in fact prices often are driven up by higher insurance rates for employees (it is an explosives making company), higher fees due to Federal, State, and Local Regulations for shipping, safety, environmental protection, and oh yes, now you can include healthcare. It wasn't up to anybody at the company... higher taxes and higher fees ALWAYS = higher prices for the consumer, though you and the rest of us 300,000,000+ Americans are told the government will crack down on company profits... as if that's a good thing.
If I buy in bulk, and bring my own cans, including the gasoline cost for my car..., I can buy GOEX regular powder for $13 a pound, while my local mom & pop gunshops sell it for $25 a pound.
