That's usually the price just for the lock. I can't imagine what an entire pistol would cost. Probably around E10,000 depending on how fancy. I have five of Bolek's locks. They are superb but cost between E2500 and E3500 apiece.

Another option is Rafal Zoilko, also in Poland. I have two of his wheellock pistols. Very nice, but importing them is a bit of a pain and adds a lot to the cost.

Be advised that ordering anything from these two craftsmen usually involves a 6 month to one year wait.

Thank you!

I don‘t mind the wait and am looking for someone in Europe because I‘m in Germany, so importing won‘t be a problem.

I‘ll try and find some way of contacting those gentleman. Though I have to say it bugs me when businesses are only available via members-only sites like Facebook or Instagram….

Not to my knowledge. There is a German gunsmith I’m acquainted with that I’ve been trying to convince to join, but he doesn’t seem interested. It would be great to have some more European builders join because there is a bigger community there of people that build matchlocks and wheellocks.

On the bright side, we’ve started to get more members from Eastern Europe and the near east that build guns from this time period, though not of these types.
