I am looking to buy a reproduction, (firing), wheel lock. I've tried Perdosoli, Dixie Gun Works and the other usual suspects but no-one seems to know of Wheelies for sale. If anyone has ideas, please let me know. :surrender:

You can try The Rifle Shoppe in Jones, Oklahoma. They have a site on the Internet. You can purchase the castings to build several types of wheellocks. They can build you one, but be prepared to spend a lot of money as custom built guns are not cheap. If you choose to build one of their wheellocks prepare yourself to be patient as you will be doing a lot of filing, polishing, drilling, tapping, and sawing off spues. You will have to find a blacksmith to harden and temper all the springs after you finish filing and polishing them to shape. I just finished their Germanic 17th century military pistol. I spent about 2 1/2 years working on it in my spare time. All I had were hand tools. It turned real nice. If you have any problems they are real accommodating and will help you. I will post some pictures once I figure out how to post them. J. Schroeter of Costa Mesda, CA has a catologue. In it he lists two pistols. One is a 16th centry German puffer. He does not have a Internat site. I purchased the German pistol kit. The investrment casting are of excellent quality. There is a design flaw internally in his lock that requies work to fix. After it is fixed the pistol works fine. My pistol turned out just fine and you can inlay the stock with bone inlays. I did that. He may have corrected the flaw by now.

if you want a fine, finished product contact Leonard Day; you will have to wait a bit but it will work and be beautifully made and authentically styled.

Theres also Mr Armin Koenig in Germany
You can see some of his work here:

He was kind enough to send me and some of the others his catalogue and pricelist. Basically he makes museum grade replicas from scratch. He has a few standard models but also has access to pieces in private and public collections which he can copy. Prices are what you would expect for this type of work... :shocked2:
