Who HAS NEVER dry balled?

I once replied to a topic about when was your last miss when bow hunting. I thought about it and realized I hadn't missed a shot in about 20yrs. So I sarcastically answered the post with.."What's a miss?"
I then missed 6 shots at deer all under 20steps the following season.
Next question.

I went for over 25 years without dryballing, double balling or shooting my ramrod thnn did all three in the same day within an hour on a trail walk and topped it off with a yellowjacket flying up my clout and planting his stinger...... much to close to mine so to speak, I was suppose to get a new name out of the mess but no one could figure out anything that could cover it....

put 10 grns in the back door and shot it into a sleepin bag i had hangin on the line.
dont know why i was worried 'bout loosin the puller, aint used it since. the wife was askin the boy how he got that burn on the bag :hmm:

Came real close once. Was flapping my lips, and not thinkig, and cuaght myself just as I began to push the ball down the barrel. :shocked2:

Had just enough patch left to get a hold on it, and pull it back out.... :haha:

Having said that, I'm going shooting this weekend. I can pretty much expect to dry-ball now.

When I do, all the other shooters will wonder why I'm rolling around laughing instead of cursing... :haha:

Hey Guys I did get a new name for a month or two. I once dry balled several times in a row I can't remember how many 3 or 4 altogether I dry balled 5 or 6 times that day. In my defence I had just started taking about 4 types of new medicine the day before. On the last one I just cased her up and took it home to pull the ball.

The guys started calling me "Ball Stuck Chuck" hate to admit it but it does have a good sounding
ring to it doesn't it!

I've never double balled YET! :grin:

While it has been years... :hmm:

Worst case, 3 x times in a row during a axe shoot..
and I was in the running for 1st place as a young shooter :youcrazy: (That was in the early 70's...)

I only live 10 minutes from the nearest range, so if I have a need (i.e.teaching a greenhorn shooter flint or matchlock) I'll just bring a weapon home, pull the barrel, unscrew the breech plug and knock out what ever needs to come out... :redface:

Been shooting for over 20 years and have never dry balled once.

My friends have tried everything over the years to get me to, encluding a topless young lady.

Just did it this weekend, my third time to the range shooting BP.

I had been shooting round ball all day. Then decided to try shooting a few conicals. Well, I got so distracted trying to put the greased conical in the barrel and to get all the goop off my hands that I never bothered to put powder in. So I poured a couple of grains in the "back door" and lit of a cap and out it popped.

More focus next time.

I always used lots of lubs so I've never loaded a dry ball, did forget the powder a few time but the ball wasn't dry. :blah:

I can neither confirm or deny the fact that I have or haven't dry balled! :grin:

 

Not yet, but I do have the bad habit of forgrtting to snap off a few caps prior to loading which I suppose is almost as bad considering after 3 or 4 cap snaps nothing happens. Thank heavens for a little device known as nipple primer!!
