I have a nit to pick :cursing: with guys that bring there wife/Girl to the range for her first time & hand her an inappropriate firearm (think .44 mag or their deer rifle), No hearing protection,or in general spook her to try to make themselves look cool. :slap:

I like single shot, no kick, double hearing protection, fun targets that spray soda, spin or something....and pack up to go home while she is still having fun  That way you get the..."can we do this again?"

I can't say what I really want to about guys like that! or the ones who can't handle the success of the wives/girlfriends. My daughter recently came back to shooting, she started with an air gun and moved to a .32 rifle, then to a small .45 bench gun and now what ever she wants. One day I hope to teach my daughter-in-law to shoot and we will start with big targets and light loads! Life is good when the womenfolk share our interest and passion.

Girls come to the shooting range not knowing a thing about guns so if they have a knowledgeable person tell them how to shoot it they listen and do as they are told.

That's why they can easily learn to outshoot their male companion.

Guys come to the shooting range already knowing everything and they resent being told anything.

That's why few of them can keep a 24 inch group at 50 yards.

Girls like low recoiling guns best. These guns don't hurt when they are shot so the girl will end up putting 10 shots into a fist sized group at 25 yards.

Boys know that only the most wicked, heaviest recoiling gun will prove their manhood (or make up for their poor shooting abilities) so they choose magnums or 570 grain slugs loaded over 120 grains of black powder.
These guns and loads always kick the pooie out of the shooter so they can't put 5 shots into a garbage can at 25 yards.

I did some instructing in my day, and I have to agree about women's shooting abilities.

And a man who has a wife for a shooting buddy, is a man blessed.

 I once shot my .58 hawken with 120 gr and a hornady great plains :shocked2: . Note the key word "once". I wont do it again! Same with my now long gone pedersoli 10 ga dbl, I loaded a mag charge and shot some bb's and I am quit sure my eyes were closed as i flinched and shot the second barrel (my buddy was offered a shot and polity declined)! If one starts his better half with that load one will not be shooting with ones better half twice.

My oldest got his muzzleloading shotgun merit badge with this gun but I loaded # 9 over 35 grains and it was no issue.
