There also often seems to me to be a general assumption that people are shooting at short range - lobbing a bullet with light charges into targets at short range may be effective for N-SSA or other short range shooting. I compete with my Enfield in MLAGB National Rifle Championship Matches and others out to 600 yards, occasionally 800 yards. It's nice to stretch the rifle out at longer ranges and use the range of elevation settings available.Inefficiency of heavy charges is not a reason to discount them. . . . . .
