Lol, brilliant.
I've used 2oz in my Pedersoli trade gun and it's a serious game getter then.

Your video helps dispell all the fancy fuss some folks go through trying to come up with some magic load train for a turkey hunt. Just keep it simple and tip way more shot in there than anything you've been told before!

Cheers Mark.

I use the Mike Brooks method. Powder, over shot card, thick fiber wad, another over shot card and then the shot topped of the with another over shot card. For round ball, I just patch it like a rifle.

Allot.... lol

For example.. birds hunt load

2 patters maybe good for close and further. Or multi game bird using 2 size shot. 6 and 8.. shoot both Pheasant and Woodcock.

Pile of shot on bottom
Then heavey buffer and shot mixed in on top..

And of course try that both ways.
Buffer shot on bottom.. Pile on top...

And then mix shot size?👀

Its going to put two patterns in the air.

But it's all too much to load and do everytime..

Powder ..Cards ..shot ...card. it's a good pattern

I do want to test though

I have trouble thinking less..

Less shot...

Less powder..

I know they had there guns dialed in back then.. and they were cheap.

One shot one kill..

Good example...

They ate all birds.. so they made loads down so much that they shot little birds of the branch with as little shot and powder needed 🙄

I would shoot the little bird with a full cup!

download the 10ga... my friend thinks10 gauge is dumb like why that cannon.it's this Elma Fudd gun. We don't hunt together. Friends/enemy.. just talk on the phone these days

My dogs hair..

Round ball and buck load info?

I can build nitro columns? to keep the fire away...

And then 🪹 it with hair.. or nest buck in hair... built in muzzle... like sit a card in wad hair on it. Sit your ball in.. then wad the hair around nice tight.. then card and push down... something like that...

That hair must to sail threw a smooth bore and strip away nice..

What size ball to get?... ten gauge.

How much powder.

I was thinking the dollar cut or folded to fit to size.. use that as a patch and ball.. what else is a nice thin cotton something paper

There's coffee grinds in this kitchen? Would we smell it?

More supplies in my kitchen than midway for this. It's cool

Another good one, Mark. Keep up the good work.

I see the allure of a smoothbore flinter; i.e. survival loading options / stuff anything down it, etc.

I struggle, though, with the accuracy issue, since I'm ingrained with "only accurate rifles are interesting" (I can't help it, it's burned into my synapses). I'm generally not interested in just slinging projectiles out there hoping for a hit. I do bird hunt with unmentionable shotguns, so there is some dichotomy/hypocrisy there I admit [eta: but these are generally appropriately choked patterned specialized tools for the situation].

I might try a poorboy trade gun; we'll see, the temptation is palpable.

Great video Mark and thanks for doing that. I didn’t think you would be on it so quick but it looks like you had a blast. I’ve looked at the Pedersoli Trade gun in the past but have just not put one in my shopping cart. The grass in the barrel cracked me up. Take care.

Not sure "they are all birds." Never heard that before, but likely did happen to ward off starving to death.

Little black bird... we couldn't find any dove. Or get one anyway..

There were sworms of Blackbirds.
Of course It was deicited we have one of them with the pasta... I think they wanted to get me to eat one... nothing there it wasn't much but we didn't get any dove... game laws I don't know you should check I was like I don't want to get busted for this thing.

Another time one guy got covered in ticks or something from a crow it was a before me story.. lol birds are birds.

They wanted to teach me that.. to eat.. like fish is fish.. eat a sunfish.. bass why not.. eels. Eels from the Charles River 😆

Is not easy being little.. they raised bunny's are the hardest.. it's a bunny you know. Then that's dinner..

The turkey they raised lol it new. they missed trying to hit it in the head and that bird beat up 3 men in that cage. My uncle bad needed stitches... then they shot it with a bb gun..

My first thing was a racoon in the trap. That was hard he was cute but I either was going to learn it or not. It was up to me.

Going for trout.
The old est of the group couldn't cast a rod or catch anything at a lake.. he got a big bottom sucker fish.. he took it no problem.. I was like im not eating that

There good I think. It's different. Seems you have to dial in powder charge etc... the brand etc.

I don't have one but people shoot good with them

It's not gong to be that inaccurate.

I'd like smoothbore.

I get the struggle... I'd use it and I'm the same. Modern type a knight.... just not rich enough to have everything.

I want to try in the dp10ga, with ball.. I chose not to buy to many guns. I just want what I need... I had a bunch of modern I never new what to use..

All that said I have to keep looking like I'm going to buy more... 😆 I'm classifieds.. gunbroker.. still visit pedersoli site even though I've been there 100 times 😆 Like why?

Good video! I’ve wadded my smooth bore with grass and leaves too. It works good. I told a guy about it once and he freaked out and said “no way am I putting grass or leaves down the bore of my $1500 dollar smooth bore!”. I replied “but you don’t think twice about igniting a charge of black powder in it?”. Ain’t heard from him since.
