WANTED WTB minie bullet mold

Minie bullets are expensive! So I need buy a mold. I will be shooting these in a Euroarms 2 band P53 Enfield.

I'm simply looking for something to shoot that would be reasonably accurate. I will pretty much be shooting at 50 yards or less for fun. This really is just to get me started shooting it, I don't need the perfect one.

So if you have a spare one floating around shoot me message.

Hi,
Try and find the exact bore size of your rifle.
Cast some bullets ,then size them, size them .001" less than your bore size, then lube them well.
Then when loading, use about 55 grains of 2F, then do everything exactly the same.
Magnum loads are useless, they blow out the bullet skirt, causing multiple variables with each shot, which you bullet can't handle.
It may sound ridiculous, but it does really work. Do everything exactly the same.
Swab between shots, keeping the bore constant. Some people will tell you it is not important......your group size will tell you, and the loading effort will tell you.
Never use an over size brass wire brush, it will get stuck.
Then when trying to pull it out, you may dislodge your wire brush from the ram rod. THEN you have a real problem. Just don't do it.
When you find your sweet spot, you will shoot one hole groups all the time.
If you are young enough and your eyesight is good, you can shoot with the poor sights that come with the rifle.
If you are older you may have to gravitate to peep sights, to keep your bullets touching.
You may have to get your local gunsmith to to work on your trigger, as most of these guns have 50 lb. trigger pulls. Not good for serious shooting.
Be sure and cast your bullets as soft as possible.
Soft bullets are easier to size, and give best results.

Thank you for detailed response. That is some really helpful information. The only BP rifle that I have shot is cartridge. I have shot C&B revolver but the long gun is all new to me. I am really looking forward to it.

I have bought a couple of molds from a member and will be casting/experimenting. Although I cannot set up a proper area to cast for a couple months...I just had surgery on Monday. When I can get out and about I will pick up a set of calipers and check the bore. I have to be honest though, this isn't about wringing out every last bit of accuracy from the rifle. This is about fun at least to start. If I'm any good with it I plan to check out some competitions.

Like has been mentioned, get the Minie that fits the bore. I have 2 rifles (both by Zoli of Italy). One takes a .575” and the other a .580”. Go figure. That little stubby Minie that Lyman makes that looks like a semi-wad cutter shoots great out to 100 yds.
