There have been variations of tillering tools before I came up with mine, they used screws to mark the wood and other things to watch the gap. There has never been a tool like I designed with a screw in pencil as far as I can tell, but I could be wrong.
Anyway, they are all over the world now, there is a German version that is really over engineered, even a 3D printed one. Everyone who has one or has made one said they used my idea, the guy 3D printing them sent me a note with the picture below thanking me for the idea. I chose to make it shareware rather than patent it. The last thing I want at this point of my life is JOB and have to make these things.
