There have been variations of tillering tools before I came up with mine, they used screws to mark the wood and other things to watch the gap. There has never been a tool like I designed with a screw in pencil as far as I can tell, but I could be wrong.

Anyway, they are all over the world now, there is a German version that is really over engineered, even a 3D printed one. Everyone who has one or has made one said they used my idea, the guy 3D printing them sent me a note with the picture below thanking me for the idea. I chose to make it shareware rather than patent it. The last thing I want at this point of my life is JOB and have to make these things.

Finished the earlier mentioned knife rehandle project. Finished the wood with a couple applications of b.l.o. applied the 1st to the wood having been warmed with the low setting of my heat gun. I gave each application a few days to sit and soak in. Warmed again and applied some beeswax. Did this a few times, letting each layer dry and harden for a day then buffed and applied the next layer. Polished of as much of that rough black scale or finish that was on both originals, as I could. That stuff caused too much friction/drag for efficient cutting. Then made the sheath. After wet shaping, the sheath is waxed with beeswax. And now it's just a process of final sharpening

With the rain from the last few days and what is still up stream and seems to be getting replenished every week I would have to wonder.

By November the river level should be down. I am planning to be there from November 1 through November 3. Have to be there Friday to sign up for the Woods Walk.

45 flint project pistol, barrel is cut down to 10'' from discarded rifle, the stock is TOW partial inletted #3 maple, lock will be the old clark lock that you folks helped me fix. breech plug installed a week or two ago, barrel is almost finished inletted today.

I force patina’d a couple of my brass accessories. I really like the look, and plan to do the same to more muzzle loading brass accessories. Maybe even some of the parts to my pistols...
