I started digging... I don't know.

It's going OK.

I'm thinking of bringing it out to where the shovel is.

Canning more pickles and zucchini bread today. Tomatoes will be ready to start canning soon too. Salsa and venison tacos on the menu!

Went away for a couple of weeks, came back to find the tobacco completely overrun with weeds, most of the sweet potatoes dead, the whole place just a wreck. Working on whipping it back into shape…

Man that's tough. That's what happened to me last year, went on a 9 day vacation and the weeds ran wild. Couldn't recover. Im really glad I did the weed barrier this year. Can't speak highly enough of the stuff.

I've canned some yellow squash, green beans, pickles, asparagus, creamed corn and some mulberry jelly so far. And, froze some whole ear corn.

If the heat stays away a little, I might get some ripe tomatoes enuf to make some sauce for canning. Finally getting some starting to turn. Maters don't like to ripen when it's too hot.

Minnesota Midget cantaloupes are starting to ripen...

Don't jump to conclusions that it wasn't that bad. I ran over it with a mower first. But it needs drying out a little more. We got a showers Fri. ,Sat. and Sun.There were weeds out there 3 1/2 feet tall.

I am almost back on my feet again from some health problems. I just hope I didn't over exert myself today and suffer a relapse. Both this year's and last year's gardens have been flops. Let's hope next year is "normal".
