That's downright cool. I have some ebony and I'm thinking to do something like that with it. Got a pretty good sized piece if you want to try some.Finished a butt plate for the .50 double bore. Used some walnut crotch.

Inlet replacement lock plate washers into Euroarms 1853 Enfield. Now it has the square wings. Also swapped out the two lower barrel wings for Palmer types. Someone had already done the uppermost one. To the ancient, perhaps an original, decrepit leather sling I have hide glued a section of an old leather belt to splice where it had separated at the very hole where the hook had been attached. Last week I fitted a new replacement bayonet. It was a JOB, taking three days of filing. The clamping ring is not top quality. Does anyone know where an original clamping ring might be found? Should I cold blue that bayonet?Since the previous thread was shut down (locked) by our new moderator, I thought I would start one up again, as per the suggestion.
So, let's get this thread going again, and share your muzzleloading related adventures of the day!
Sunburn?Couple of nights ago, I made a 48" hickory range rod for a friend who saw mine and "had to have a new one" for himself. Gifted it to him and he was tickled pink (looked pink anyway).
