Saturday I got the rare chance of late to go shoot with extended family and friends. I shot my 1851 Navy over 50 times and my 3rd model Colt dragoon about 40 times. They both performed well and I got to use up bunch of oxidized lead balls. When the snow flies I will cast a bunch of bright and shiny new ones. I also got out my Original Smith Carbine and put 50 rounds thru it. I went home black fingered and smelling like
Black Powder fouling. ‘‘Twas truly a wonderful day.

Man, I need a day like that!

Shot my Frontier .50 cal flintlock. Had a great outing, mostly 50 yd work today. Rang the 50 yd gongs many times, and even put 2 shots on my coffee cup lid at 50 yds off hand. Best of all, zero misfires, pan flashes, hangfires, and same flint the whole session. Might be finally getting some things figured out! :)

Hi-
Don't do much on this site, actually nothing I believe.
However, I do ask about caps whenever I'm visiting at a gun shop, today, 22SEP24.
I found CCI #11 caps at Mesa Sportsman's Warehouse. And one tin of musket caps.
Plus a big selection of primers for CF reloading.

Gotta love the new air guns.
Got two secondhand £350 each “gunstar “ pcp airguns both unused. Both bsa Scorpio. The 177 target master on the 177 was £240 and the “mount master “ hunting scope, very good £70. Both will put pellets through the same hole a 50 yards, but you need EXACT Diablo pellets for that Max 12 ftlbs without a police permit , that’s fine with me

Both scopes by Nikosterling . I am not an airgun nut , but they kill birds and animals , squirrels definitely , to 50yards and don’t mess up the meat like a shotgun. I am not a rifle range nut, but prefer the woods,. Shot a lot of foxes in my time. Rabbits almost disappeared through blood pox in UK At last getting some squirrels back in the garden , they are tasty .

Hunting with rifles is few and far between in uk , unless you have a farm or land . Any Forrest’s private or gov land, and no shooting there !!!!! so pcp air guns saved my hunting life. Got over 20 ml rifles even a 450-400 double for elephant. But they can only hang on the wall . Well that’s the uk

Absolute apologies to our lord above for pcp unmentionables, But I won’t drone on about them , just a bit of very occasional
pcp education, after all they are magic and 500 pellets for $20 is amazingly cheap for culling squirrels .
