Got this to hang on my wall. But after inspection I noticed the lock looked real. Well curiosity got me. Put a flint in it and it sparked good. So I added a little 2f to the pan and it went poof. I asked myself. Why would someone put a working lock on a prop gun?
Now the barrel had a plug about half way down.
Why not. Got a wooden dowel and a hammer. Tapped on it started moving. Few good strikes and it popped out.
All I have is a DeWalt hand drill. But what the heck. Did the drilling. First the barrel then the plug. Tapped in in (its tight) to where the holes matched. Put the barrel back on. Added about 10gr loose 2f and some in the frizzen. It went poof whoosh.
I disassembled the entire gun. The lock has Spain on it. Going to disassemble it and give it a good cleaning.
I do have a question. Should I buy a tap and die and thread it. Or find a welder to weld it for me. I probably won't be shooting any balls out of it. Probably just a noise maker or some bird shot.

Isn’t that a CVA’tower pistol’ from the 1970? I had one and it shot well
Just goofy looking compared to historical guns
You can get fuse from Dixie and set it off from a distance,

Those are my plans after I get the correct breech plug. When I drilled the flash hole, it wasn't to easy, but it was doable. The barrel is by no means just a pipe. Its actually harder than a revolver barrel. Not brittle either. I haven't measured the bore yet. Its set aside right now. Im working on another project.

For display only !
Often the metal parts are cast from soft zinc/pot metal.
Yes sir they look like that. They are steel. Frizzen sparks real good. It ignites 2f powder without any problem. I already disassembled the lock and polished all the parts. The only problem I had was the release sear. I fixed that. So no issues with the lock.

OD is 3/8 ?
ID is just under 3/8, haven't measured the OD. I've been shooting fire and smoke out of it. Since I live in town, that's about all I can do with it at the time. Just a whoosh, no loud cap to worry about. I have a homemade flint and been using Pyrodex RS. If it ignites the RS I'm sure real BP won't be an issue, especially 4f

Well I tried to blow this thing up. Didn't have any luck. All I have are .560 balls. The bore measure is approx .580. Used that with a thick patch over 50gr 2f. The second time I used 60gr. Using cannon fuse.
The third time hand held with 45gr, wasp nest over that and same measure of #4 shot with wasp nest over that. Good pattern at about 10 ft.
