.40cal GM Flint barrel on order

Roundball how did you get GM to make up the 40 cal flint barrel? I corresponded with GM regarding a 54 cal rifled flint in 15/16 and was told they would not make one up. Could you PM me the details of how you went about getting your 40 cal flint. Thank you.

    Progressive trouble firing

I coned my liners on a GPR 54 flinter and opened the holes to .070 (#50 drill) on both the screwdriver and allen key liners. IMHO it improved ignition.

    GPR trigger question

When set up properly you can set the trigger or cock the lock in any sequence which is normal for this double trigger, double lever set trigger assy. Had the same problem with a GPR flint i assembled with L&R lock. Had to grind a small amount off the lock sear bar. When the trigger is set the...

    Castor oil

Has anyone used castor oil from model aircraft supply stores? Some of these guys still use it to mix their own fuel and it is a whole lot cheaper than the food grade stuff one buys at the drug stores or Walmart. It should be good stuff since those model aircraft engines run high RPMs, have very...

    GPR Problem...

Sounds like the rear trigger bar is too close to the sear bar, it (the rear trigger bar) actually moves lower when the trigger is set. You may have to remove a little from either of these to give more clearance. you could also shim the trigger assembly lower in the stock. Try a 1/16" temporary...

    T/C Hawken 45 cal accuracy

Thank you for the comments. maybe i just need to shoot it more and do some exercise. Have installed a Lyman 57 and 17a for sights. Will give it some time. 2" at the muzzle should make it feel much lighter but i wonder how it will effect accuracy. Has anyone shortened a GM small cal. IBS?

    T/C Hawken 45 cal accuracy

I put an IBS 40cal, 15/16", 32" 1-48 twist Green Mountian on a TC Hawken percussion. Shoots fine however that small caliber in a 15/16" barrel makes a rather heavy rifle for offhand. Am considering shortening it to 30". Any feedback would be most welcome.
