    MOOSE MILK???

When I made my first batch of moose milk, I remember one poster saying that he double-dips his patches. Dip them once in the moose milk, let them dry overnight, then dip them again. Works much better this way!

    loading from the horn

As pointed out in an earlier post, what if you use a priming horn for the flashpan? At the range I go to, I have to put the load, patch, and ball in behind the line of fire, and then bring the rifle to the line (with a frizen cover). Only once I'm at the line am I allowed to prime the pan, which...

    Favorite rifle builder today

Take a look at Brad Emig at Cabin Creek Muzzleloading. He make historically correct guns in an 18th century shop. Plus, there is just something nice about getting a Pennsylvania long rifle made in PA.

We have a Dick's being built near by.

Well, I've seen some of the stuff you guys mentioned at the Dick's I go to. They don't sell pistols or revolvers, but do carry all sorts of shotguns and rifles, including BP by T/C, CVA, and Traditions. They don't sell powder, but they do sell patches, round ball, sabots, and of course rimfire...

My shooting buddy had a Cabella's Blue Ridge; he had to send it back because the fit and finish were horrible.

    The Possible Shop

I have ordered from them in the past; good stuff! I also like the Log Cabin Shop (where I usually check first) and October Country. Smiling Fox has a few interesting things that you don't usually see, too.

    Who 's going

I went last year for one day (Saturday) right after I got my first muzzleloader (a used Hawkin). Its not too far of a drive, so I thought that it might be fun. A year later, I have sold the majority of my cartridge guns, sold that cheap old original Hawkin, and bought a custom PA longrifle, a...

That joke was so bad that the skunks are holding their noses.

    Muzzloading Store for sale

I know he has come up in discussion before, but Charlie Stone is selling the muzzleloading store he has outside of Philadelphia. He has the "For Sale" sign up and everything. Here is the kicker, though... The sale includes "the land and the store, but not the invetory". Without that, its not...

    banning our .50 muzzleloaders???

Well, if those two are correct, than there are at least three. I seem to remember some guy with a BP (a revolver, I think) gun taking hostages and killing at least one person at some sort of mental hospital in PA a few years back.

    banning our .50 muzzleloaders???

Ah, Waco; the Democrat's idea of a church BBQ. Nice little game the Feds played over there... kill the suspects along with those you are trying to save and then there is no need for a messy trial. These charges were made before, but the local law enforcement said that they never had enough...

    banning our .50 muzzleloaders???

I just got my May issue of American Rifleman, and was taken back a bit by one of the lines on page 18's " ONLY A .50 Caliber Ban? DON'T YOU BELIEVE IT!" article by James O.E. Norell. The second paragraph (last on the page) states: "Moran's bill, H.R. 654, is a prime example of how the gun-ban...

    Looking to buy a flintlock

100% sure he is the same guy; he talks about the old store in NJ and has his posters of bad NJ politicians. I think that he might live in the store at times... he has a full kitchen/living area, and is pretty much open every day (even Christmas). I think he even said at one point that he gave...

    Looking to buy a flintlock

Yea, he mentioned something about The Last of the Mohicans as well. He had some rifle stock war clubs up against the wall, and claimed he made them for the movie. The only problem was that they were about 1/2 the size of the ones they used in the film. They were still interesting, though, but at...

    Looking to buy a flintlock

I'm sorry if I implied that he was naked... by "not wearing any pants", I meant "no pants", not "no pants and no underwear". This was actually winter, though, where he was only in the boxers (to be 100% correct he also had on an undershirt, vest, and a neckbrace). It is worth one visit though...

    Looking to buy a flintlock

Hank, He is! He still has a noose hanging (no pun intended) up in his shop window. And, man, just don't get him started on the topic of public hangings!

    Looking to buy a flintlock

I would have to second the suggestion of Dixon's. While you are at it, make plans to attend thier gun maker's fair in July; it's great! :imo: As for Charlie Stone... no disrespect, but I find the guy to be a bit... ahem... interesting. I remember the first time I went there; he wasn't wearing...

    storage of Moose Milk

I went to the Eckerd's today and got all of the ingredients for my first batch of Moose Milk. While there, I saw a platic container that has ounce markers running down the side. The top line was 32 oz, the exact final measure of the recipe posted here (if I did my math correct). My question...

    The Gun Works Muzzleloading Emporium

How is the grip size of those flintlock pistols they sell (as far as I can tell, there is only one model)? I have average to large hands, and the discription says it is comfortable for women and men. This makes me think that it might be a bit small for me.
