    Which Bandsaw to buy?

I am in the process of setting up my work shop and I want to add a band saw to my list of toys. I will use this for things other than gun building but that will be its primary task. Do you have any preferences to brand and why? Any help would be appreciated. Scott

    Clanger/Spinner for Back yard Range?

I am looking at getting a spinner or some sort of clanger for a little informal fun shooting in my backyard. I was hoping to get something with a 2" and a 4" disc, either seperately or together on the same target. I plan on shooting .36 to a .54 with both target and hunting loads from 25-100...

    Beeswax

I bought mine at Michaels- A craft store in our area. I believe they are around the country though. I do not remember what I Paid but I think it was in the 2 to 3 dollars a pound range. Not sure if Wal-Mart carries it or not. A lot of folks use it for candles etc. Hope that helps.

Swamped barrel on Southern Mtn Rifle?

While at friendship I picked up a rice swamped barrel that is 42" long. I was wondering if anyone knows if they used swamped barrels on this type of rifle or not? I would like to try a gun from a board and thought if it was historically correct it would make a nice .54 caliber hunting rifle...

    barrel cleaning effects shooting

MUFAN, I agree with a lot of what has been said. Clean right away. As Roundball has said there is a lot of info here on how. As far as cleaning goes I have one gun in particular that will shoot 2" higher and about 2" left when clean. I have another that it does not matter hardly at all...

    Ball pulling help

I have had to do it a few times also :shocked2: What has worked for me in the past when I had a hard time getting the screw started is to 1. make sure the screw threads are clean with no junk in them so they can bite good 2. If your rod is long enough and heavy enough hold it and smack it...

    Powder Dispenser

Hi Guys, I was recently at a shoot and saw some of the guys were using a device that mounted to the edge of the loading bench or their shooting box. Essentially it held a can of powder upside down and you pushed or slid? your powder measure up and it dispensed the powder into the measure right...

    TC 56 cal. smoothbore

Hi articap, Yes that is them!!! :hatsoff: I never needed a mallet but a short starter with a big enough end to give it a good whap with the hand was definitely needed.

    TC 56 cal. smoothbore

Hi Bernie, Had one of them in the late 80's when I lived in MA. MA at the time would only allow smothbore and pathed round ball so TC would bore out a .54 to remove the rifling and it would end up some where around .56. At least that is what they told me at TC when I was having a contender...

    Shortening Butt Plate Comb

Hi Pack Dog, I am using their classic tenesse pattern. In looking over some plans and pics I think you are probably right that i need to adjust the cheek piece. Right now it is about 4.5" inches and from what I can tell it should be closer to 3.5" long what do you think??
