    Uberti Leech and Rigdon

Also, you'll notice, reading the link I posted, that the OP, (steve) was pretty convinced that he had a one in a million, new found original from the start. When he came back and proudly said it was "authentic", that was the last time he posted. At all. He only made 16 posts on the entire forum...

    Uberti Leech and Rigdon

I assume this is what you are talking about. http://www.cascity.com/forumhall/index.php/topic,34266.0.html It also looks like a Pietta brass frame, round barreled .44 "navy" with the markings filed off...

    Dance and Brother revolver

To each his own. I had one for years (stupidly sold it and just bought another one) and it's a great shooting revolver. Have never had any problems with it.

    Dance and Brother revolver

What is its powder capacity? The same as a 1860 .44. I shoot 24gr. under a conical bullet, or 28gr. or so with a RB.

This is a good place for parts. http://www.vtigunparts.com/store/shopdisplaycategories.asp?id=108&cat=Pietta

    Dance and Brother revolver

I have a Pietta Dance revolver and I like it a lot. Shoots great. Well made. I have eleven C&B revolvers, and the Dance is the only one that is not a Uberti.

    Holy Crapoly!!

Oh gee, ya think? I have diversity. I have a Pietta Dance revolver :blah: I started buying C&B revolvers in 1996 and until 2000, all I bought were Piettas. I have owned eight of them over the years. I didn't like the quality of them as compared to Uberti. It seems I was always...

    Holy Crapoly!!

I had that same thing happen about ten years ago on a steel frame Pietta 1851 navy .36 after about three cylinders full. That's one of the reasons why, out of eleven C&B revolvers I own, ten are Uberti, and only one is a Pietta. Although I do like the one I have.

why do we use wads in bp revolvers?

FWIW, I've been shooting C&B revolvers since 1996. I do not use wads. At most, sometimes I will roll the balls in a 50/50 bees wax and tallow mix before loading. I had 1 chainfire and that was my fault. I used balls that were undersized.

    MVTC Ketland Trade Pistol

I have no knowledge of the Indian flinters so my question is, do they seem like solid guns? Are they worth the money?

I am thinking of what a western Virginia (WV) farmer/hunter from VA, mainly farmer who hunts for food would have had. I am a cattle farmer in WV born and raised in VA who hunts in real life, so I figured that's what I would base an impression on.

Is there a difference between an early english and a "carolina"? As far as the NW guns, I figured they were called "North West" for a reason.

I guess what I'm really wanting to know is, how common would this type of gun have been in the east(western Virginia)as opposed to like a north west trade gun. I don't figure a NW gun would have been seen much in the east.

First off, since it was seen fit to lock the previous thread before I could say one more thing to TG I want to say..... I apologize. What started out as a misunderstanding on TG's part, turned into something worse on mine. TG took offense at something I said that was not meant to be offensive...

Return or Keep - Which Would You Do ?

I also love my square back navies. I have two.( and 2 remmies and 1 1860). They are dandies. I also had a 2nd model dragoon. Damn big gun . I sold it cause I never really used it much. But I did like it. If you want something with a WOW factor get a dragoon or a walker. Or both!

Look, I am not here to pick a fight with anyone. What happened was he apparently got his feelings hurt when I told him not to read too much into the question, that I was not "stuck" on sitting fox. I gusss TG misunderstood my meaning. He came back with that childish, tantrum :( fine...sniff...

Return or Keep - Which Would You Do ?

A friend of mine has one. When he took it out for the first time it started falling apart. I have no experience with a Le Mat but I do have with Piettas. I have given them many chances in the last 15 years and only once did it pan out. Ubertis are much better in my opinion. I have 5 Ubertis and...

I have no problem taking advice from TG, but when he gives the "I'm taking my ball and going home" :( responce when I tell him I am not stuck on any one maker I don't give a *$#$ what he knows. He does not know anything I can't find out from somewhere or someone else.

Well, I think I've narrowed it down to an in the white early english trade gun from NSW or a kit of the same or a fowler kit from TVM. I really appreciate all the help. Marshall
