    Another one too

    Found a new Cabelas hawken for 50 bucks right before Christmas. Needless to say the 13 year old grandson was really suprised on Christmas day. Finally managed to get him out today and he had a blast :) , went through the loading procedure once then let him do it all by himself. After 30 shots it...

    Tulle progress pics

    Finally got the work bench cleared off enough to get a few pics of the Track Tulle kit im building. Have the barrel and tang inletted and the trigger assembled and inlet. Lock is inletted and reworked to resemble the photos in the Tulle book. Any suggestions would be apprecieated. Now working on...

    Removing deep sanding scratches on barrel.

    Guncobbler, In my limited experience browning with LMF I found that if I stop at 220 grit when sanding, the browning comes out real nice, all the small sanding marks will disappear once you start the browning process. Gary

    Track kit

    Got the 44 inch barrel it comes with a Davis lock. The lock needs a few cosmetic changes a little grinding on the back of the frizzen, a little grinding on the top jaw screw and the fancy final on the frizzen spring needs to be taken off.     Ordered a Tulle kit from TOTW on monday,the order was shipped on tuesday and it all arrived today. Packaging was super and all parts look to be in good shape.     My last build was with a swamped barrel, real good balance and easy to shoot. Any more rifles will definatly have swamped barrels.

    Who has NEVER had a misfire?

    One mis fire with the GPR, a bad cap. What a scarey feeling when it did not go boom, an even scareyer feeling takeing that cap off and pitching it.......

    Forty cal barrel twist

    Have a GM 40 cal swamped barrel with a 1 in 56 twist, it shoots nice and flat out to 50 yds. Goex fffG 40 grains, .395 ball and .018 Wal Mart pillow ticking. Its my favorite target plinker...

    powder for GPR

    Been using Goex fffG in my 54 GPR. Have put approx 450 shots through her and the one and only miss fire was a bad cap. :)
