    Reboring and rifling a barrel is $ 100. However you can also buy a GM barrel ( and in my opinion they are better then your existing barrel)for the same cost

    Even though some barrel maker do not warant their barrels when coned, I shot quite a few guns with coned barrels and they were exellent shooters! I also took a rice barrel, shot it un -coned and then coned it and no difference in the group size.

    A normal metal blade ( in good shape) will do. Finish with some 400 stone ( or sandpaper on a wood block) to deburr the muzzle

    Good explanations ! Just want to add some more. I was working for a while for a european gunmaker and we even had our own forest ! Besides being correct for certain guns where " plain" wood is called for - I always would choose some better wood for gunstocking. It will just be more value...

    Sounds good so far - I understand that there is a difference but again it is for field use - and a kit around $ 320 is hard to beat - even if I just buy a barrel and lock ( have anough wood blanks and hardware) I am out the same and a lot of work.... but then on the other side....
