    Lyman GPR .54 charge?

Yeah, I've shot .535 ball with .015 patches since I got the gun without much trouble, so unless the barrel shrunk or the patches/balls grew, that combo should be GTG. That rifle was dead on at any range I tried it at last time I was shooting it regularly, but I want to try 777 as I hear it's...

    Lyman GPR .54 charge?

Ok, I've looked here and on Google and can't find a reliable answer (it's been a few years since I've shot this rifle): what powder charge in a LGPR behind a .535 PRB? Best I could come up with is "between 80 and 100gr". I'm using 777, so I know I'm supposed to back it off 10-15% from real BP...

    Flintlock Double Barrel Coach Gun?

Haha, I don't know where I got the idea they were out of the UK. That's no problem then, CA still doesn't regulate MLs. Thanks for all the input, I really appreciate it.

    Flintlock Double Barrel Coach Gun?

Interesting. Thanks for the info. So what's all involved with importing through them? Is there any paperwork or does the US gov't not even care? Also, I know their stuff ships without the flash hole drilled. Anyone have experience with this and how difficult finishing this up is? I work in metal...

    Flintlock Double Barrel Coach Gun?

Interesting, I'll take a look. So other than the "ship's carbine" from MVTC can anyone recommend a good carbine or musketoon replica?

    Flintlock Double Barrel Coach Gun?

Yeah, I really like theirs, but I'd prefer a 20" barrel. I'm sure I could cut it down, but that seem like a risky home project and a potentially expensive gunsmithing job.

    Flintlock Double Barrel Coach Gun?

I'm looking for double barrel "Coach Gun" style shotgun but flintlock. It's for a "pirate" style get-up I'm working on. Also if anyone knows another company besides Middlesex Village Trading Company that sells a double barrel flintlock pistol I'd be much obliged.

    Shelf life of Caps?

As for being a collector's item, I'd keep a tin or two unopened, and keep all the empties and boxes. Maybe that's just me though.

    Bizzare question

Not to stir the pot, but I remember when I was in England visiting Windsor Castle the tourguide told us that several of the early firearms they had on display had been rifled in that very fasion. There was actually one rifle which had a heart shaped barrel which was twisted to give about a...

    filing your barrel

My guess is that it wouldn't hurt to try, but I don't think it'll work and would never do it to any of my guns. There are several problems which I see. The first is that the accuracy of your powder load will be far more critical. A little too much or too little will steer the ball off course...

    New Paterson

If you use anything but BP you'll be loading a little bomb, not a pistol. I recommend Goex or Pyrodex.

    Lyman Trade Rifle

My LGP has a double, but I think the trade has single.

    Last one for this winter

If you're ever lookin' to sell that beauty (don't know why you would) I'd be mighty interested. Always loved the tall ships, and Old Ironsides was the one that started the relationship.

    Mountain Man Journal

Bought this a while back and never got around to reading it. I'll have to dig it back up.

CW reenactment and living history, Vista, March 8-9

Out at the gas and steam museum in Vista, Ca, we're doing a reenactment and living history. It's a great time and once you're bored of the CW stuff, you can wander the antique engines. Message me if you want more info and can't find it on Google. (I don't know the cost)

    More Howdah eye-candy

Anyone know if they're legal in CA? If so, I'll have to get one or twenty.

Powder Charge for EuroArms 1861 Springfield?

Also, the patches I have are .015, not .010, so like I said before, I need thinner patches. I think.
