    FOR SALE Kentucky pistol

Does the hammer have good spring tension when cocking? If so, Try a shorter nipple and see if that helps.. It doesn’t appear the nipple is screwed completely in , in the pic without the green cap..🤷‍♂️

    FOR SALE Kentucky pistol

As mentioned loosen the lock and see if it holds at full & half **** positions.. If not remove the lock and look for areas that the metal is contacting the wood.. The trigger maybe inlet a little too deeply causing an issue as well..🤷‍♂️

Look up finger weaving….😎 This one’s on a bag the strap is made from hemp cordage. Simple to do if your fingers have decent dexterity… Just a suggestion.👍

    Read my patch...

If the gun has been shot for over a decade one would think the sharp edge of the rifling or muzzle would not be an issue… Is it possible the patch material is old and just being slightly cut while loading…🤷‍♂️ Try using additional lube on the patch that may help as well.

Does wasp nest catch fire when shot?

Also it helps protect against powder being dampened from heavy saturated lubed patch and I think it also provides an additional seal giving the gun a little more bang for your Buck…

    Sweet 16?

Finding the correct size ball was the biggest challenge… This deer was killed with 70 grn fffg & a patched .626 roundball..25 yards more or less. Skychief load using 2 ozs of # 6 shot on the tree rats.. Cylinder bore Tip Curtis made smoothbore.. Bore mics .653… iirc.🤷‍♂️
