    One shot, One kill

Good on ya! I really enjoy squirrel hunting. Too many people have forgotten the joy of it.

    Misfire...

I don't know what model Traditions rifle you have, but it does not matter. I think that you may be misunderstanding the barrel removal to clean it out. You don't need to pull the breech plug. You should be able to pull the barrel out and then clean it following the manufacturer's...

    Your gunrack?

I've never had anyone ask to see my rack before! :rotf:

    Rain Covers for my Fintlocks

Couldn't you just ease the sharp 90 on the sight to make it less of a scraper?

    Failed attempt

Damn, political correctness arrives in the General Muzzleloading category. Years ago I got gnawed on by a young German girl regarding the use of the word fraulein. When I was learning German as a child (we spoke it around the house), a fraulein was a girl or young woman. Nothing derogatory at...

    Flintlock gunshow find

That is a Markwell Arms pistol. Expect the lock to be suspect (the tumbler and sear will likely wear) The barrel underlug is spotwelded or brazed on if I am not mistaken. The tip of the ramrod is flat, not concave as well.

CVA "USA" Mtn Rifle - ser numbers

I suspect that the unmarked barrels may be Deer Creek barrels, but have no evidence to support that theory.

What's the purpose to draw file a barrel?

Some guys also draw file off the junk that is stamped on the barrels warning all to only use blackpowder.

Just how bad do you want the Made in USA?

    Shot bag makers

OK, this is a swag. I would suspect that you fold the leather neck over the inner ring, then press the whole mess onto the outer ring and then thread in the valve.

    Wasted Tag!

Now we know why you are the SKINNY indian. :rotf: I feel your pain. The last 3 years were almost enough to make me quit, then this year I got two deer inside of 30 minutes.

    bob cat 50cal cva

No harm, no foul Necchi. I have a couple of CVAs including a NIB Bobcat. They are production guns, and as far as they go, I think that they are fine for beginners (in caplock). Lots of folks point newbies to custom guns - and I am sure that their quality is superior - but I think that the...

    Bob Cat 50 question

Some will tell you that you did good, others will tell you that you didn't. I think that you did good by getting a sidelock. That being said, you should add weight to the butt to reduce felt recoil. Optics can be added, but you likely won't need them as you should keep shots on the shy side...

    bob cat 50cal cva

Necchi, you are the first person that I have heard dis the shooting capabilities of the Bobcat. Almost everyone abhors the plastic stock, and they are too light, but the capability of the barrels have been marveled at by many. You may have gotten a dud. Oh, if you can find them new, that is...

    Sight problems

CVA named their guns a lot of things later on in the game. Call Deer Creek back and order sights for a CVA Bobcat and you should be in fat city.
