    Two Leather Bottle

Your english is fine! I never thought of using that method, I was trying to figure out some way of making a mold, but your method is a lot easier! I have the leather and a charger for my shot pouch, just haven't made it because I didn't know how. I'll try your method! Is there a particular kind...

    Two Leather Bottle

Can you explain how you molded the leather like that? I've been wanting to make a shot puch and a ball bag like that, but I'm not sure of the process. Great looking pieces!

    Newest LR finally finished...

Looks good and the screw ups just give it character. The deer won't know the difference!

    Light loads

My daughter has a CVA youth model, .50 caliber, and we have killed deer with it loaded with a PRB and 50 grains of 2F pyrodex. Little recoil for her, and knocked the deer down at 30 yards with a well placed shot. Don't need much more than that.

    2nd attempt at scrimshaw

Kirby, Nice lookin horn! How did you do the carving up around the spout end? I too am working on my first horn, and I am hold up right now trying to figure the best tool to do that type of carving with. I am talking about the sqigly border on the spout end. Thanks, Bryan

Anyone ever did a bedding job?

I'm a newbie also, but I think I would look for the same or similar barrel in 13/16 and sell the 7/8 barrel, or keep the old barrel for another project, but I would opt for another barrel. Bryan

Opinion on L&R Durs Egg lock

I know this is somewhat comparing apples and oranges, but I have a Navy 12 guage double I bought for turkey hunting. I'm using 1 1/2 oz. shot and 80 grains of powder, and I'm putting 10-15 pellets of number 4 shot in a turkey head target at 30 yards. My double gun is a cylinder bore. I spent two...

    Double Barrel Shotgun

I bought a Navy Arms 12 double, and couldn't be happier with mine. Very nice gun for the money, shots better than I do, can't complain. I did have to spend some time at the range patterning it, but it was time well spent. Good Luck! Bryan

    Patche Knife

Look under rivets and pins on that same site, and you will find what you need. That blade is meant to have the handles riveted on. You will need to have an idea of how wide you want the handle to order the right rivets, though. Bryan

    12 pound mountain howitzer plans

Thanks for the replies, fellas. What makes the plans different, and why is buck stix gun more work in you opinion? Are these other sources historically accurate, more so that buck stix? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just pondering building one. Thanks, Bryan

    12 pound mountain howitzer plans

Has anyone built the 12 pound mountain howitzer from the plans sold by the buck stixs folks, or at least ordered the plans to see how good they are? Looks like a heck of a good project to me, just wondered what others experience has been in cost, procurring materials, etc. Thanks in advance, Bryan

    Fiber wad question

I soak mine in Crisco that I melt in a pan, let them soak up all they will, then put them on a paper plate with a paper towel to soak away any excess. I then keep them sealed in a ziplock bag in my gun cabinet, but when I go shooting they gointo an Altiods tin that I cleaned up. Looks PC and...

    Home Made Caps

I just bought 700 number 11 caps at Dicks for I think .97 per hundred... Unless they are aweful tough to get shipped, I don't think you could buy the materials for hat. Just my nickels worth, Bryan

    RANGE REPORT: Cheapshot Cast Balls

I just got everything I need to start casting balls, and I sure hope like heck they look better than those. Looks like the sprue cutter is worn out on the mold, not to mention the parting line going around that thing. Good thing lead is cheap. I bought a bunch in ingots off a fella on ebay, and...

    Shopping for band saw

I'd buy the biggest and best saw I could afford. My experience with smaller 10 inch table top models is that often they are not up to the task. I have a Sears bandsaw that is a two wheel, 12 inch job, and sometimes it is borderline when cutting thick or tough woods. Another problem that I have...
