How long do "pre-lubed" patches last?

I hear frequently on here that pre-lubed patches don't last and can create some issues when they get old. How old are we talking? I don't plan to use pre-lubed patches again but I did buy some a year or so ago and am wondering how long they might last? Or should I just pitch them and be done...

traditionalist - Are we Loosing the Battle

I'll take a stab at this, although it's only from my perspective and from the state I live in. At face value, it seems logical, why would anyone care what others are hunting with as long as you can use you're weapon of choice. in this case a traditional muzzleloader? In Colorado, where I live...

traditionalist - Are we Loosing the Battle

The original statement was... Some game dept. have recognized the "traditional" way and have outlawed the modern ML stuff. That is not what Colorado has done. They, like most other states have slowly, over the years let more and more technology into the muzzleloading season. About the only...

First shot varies...what would you do?

I’ll be interested to hear what others have to say & if you can figure out a fix for this. I’ve always just fired a fouling shot when this is an issue.

traditionalist - Are we Loosing the Battle

You can use an inline in Idaho, Oregon, & Colorado. Each of these states does have some restrictions on ignition, powder, & projectiles though. It seems as more & more advances are made in the muzzleloader arena, the states are allowing more & more. Some at a slower rate than others. I haven’t...

traditionalist - Are we Loosing the Battle

That's encouraging... The western states seem to be going the other direction allowing just about everything & anything in the muzzleloader season.

Great elk hunting story! Makes me wish I was out there right now... very innovative sled idea! I'll have to keep that in mind if the conditions are ever right.

    Colorado shooters

There’s bound to be a few guys around but I’m not familiar with any clubs or organizations in that area. I’m a little over an hour away from you. Where did you move there from?

    GRRW .54 Range Session...

Since first posting this I’ve been to the range about once a week trying different powder/ patch combinations. Most groups were decent at 50 yds. I couldn’t get anything better than 2” groups. I decided to switch to Swiss 2F instead of 3F and got the best group yet at 1.5”. Good enough for now...
