Before you start chopping, I’ll contact my brother with the shortened rifle and ask what the barrel length is, if you like.

I think it’s just the lighting on the cylinder and arbor that make it look odd. Light does bend slightly around curves.:dunno::cool:

If you look inside the barrel channel on the stock, there might be the letter ‘K’ stamped into the wood. That would indicate it was a kit gun. If you look around the bottom flats of the barrel toward the breach end, there could be a ‘K’ there. If there are no markings like that, then it...

Try rubbing and eraser over the markings on your powder measure. It will clean it up enough so you can read it. Or lightly polish it with emery paper. :thumb:

Have you thought about contacting a jeweler ? If they don’t plate, they might know someone who does.
