    It's not a group...it's so bad it's not even a shotgun pattern....I need help.

I've bought press mounted push thru sizing dies online from Northeast Trade Company and been pretty happy with them.

    It's not a group...it's so bad it's not even a shotgun pattern....I need help.

I have a Parker Hale 2 band musket made by Euroarms and have had no luck with the bullet pictured on the left, a Rapine 580313 or similar. Nor have traditional minies worked even when sized .581 which is bore size in my rifle. My best result has been with a Rapine 580470 trashcan minie sized to...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Took the Pedersoli Mortimer .451 rifle to the range this morning, only the second time to have it out. A paper plate sized group at 100 yards isn't too exciting but you have to start somewhere.

Mostly alone. I tend to go Sunday mornings and am acquainted with a few others who sort of follow the same schedule.

    What did you do today

Not today but tomorrow I should be visiting the Buffalo Bill museum in Cody, Wyoming. A balmy 75 degrees, don’t know how I’ll survive these pleasant temperatures.

Had a neighbor with a deer feeder set up to feed her wild turkeys - I counted 127 one day in her yard. They knew what time supper was served.

I know it was wrong, but....

I have more muzzleloaders than I’ll be able to competently shoot in my lifetime. However as a Boy Scout I learned to be prepared so I’ll need a few extras in case I live longer than expected.

    Pedersoli Now vs Earlier

I know a few of their early cartridge guns had soft internal parts that had to be replaced but have never heard of problems with their muzzleloaders.

Historically Incorrect, or (A Story of Thread Counting and Delrin Rods)

I don’t re-enact I just like to shoot old style guns. My range box is yellow plastic and it sits on the folding plastic table. I regularly apologize to the folks around me about the acrid cloud of smoke drifting around them.

Your best deal acquiring a muzzleloader, either trade or purchase

Bought an unfired like new Pedersoli Tryon that had been used as a wall decoration for $250. Bought another unfired like new Tryon a few years later from an estate sale, also for $250.
