Not to be a smart a**,but those are not good patterns.You better pull back to 25 yards and hope the pattern gets better.You should have a average of 6 or more pellets in the brain and spinal cord,like the poster above said.Turkeys are not that easy to kill,and very seldom are a stationary target.

If you run a screw down in the stock across that crack, I don't know how it could get worse. It stops at the lock bolt hole.I do not have Idaho Rons exepertise but I have probably fixed a half dozen TC stocks that way and never had them get worse.That crack as most people know is super common...

Notchy Bob,I think you are right on the geometry of the spring causing failure.I have heard that before,and have heard of a lot of shooters breaking 2or3 springs.I have a .54 browning and never worried about the spring,I would just get someone to fabricate one if needed.But getting that spring...

Best thing to do is just buy a flintlock,plain and simple.

If you don't like looking at the crack,just take a nice piece of tanned Deer hide and stitch it tight around the wrist. You can then patina it with dye or grease to darken it up. I think that is better than Rawhide. Rawhide can be a pain to work with.

It should fit it, if you cut a couple of inches off the under barrel rib?
