The .36 is a touch over 1/8, the .50 is a touch under 1/4 and the .54 is about 3/16 at the webs between the barrel channel and the ram rod groove................Chawbeef
My 3 rifles, from left .36 cal. Tennessee mnt. with Sharon barrel, middle is .50 with Green River/Sharon barrel (my first build) and .54 cal. Lancaster (current build) with 44 in. Coleraine swamped barrel...............Chawbeef
The only thing I used a lathe for was to square off the muzzle of my barrel, crown it and then cone the bore.................Chawbeef
Oh, I also built my own jags and ball puller and brass short starter and ram rod tip.
I am building a Lancaster style rifle with a 44 inch "C" weight swamped barrel. Do I shape the upper forestock sides straight or shaped to the contour of the barrel?? Thanks all............Chawbeef
Mr Person, with all due respect Sir, I for one find it quite difficult to learn how to post pictures. Every time someone tries to tell me how to do it I get confused over the "computer lingo" There are so many things I do not know how to do on a computer.
