I am not a stranger to flint knapping and have included some pictures of my work. I want to learn to knap flints for flintlocks. Is there a book or video out there that shows how? Thanks for your help. ET

    TVM or TVM???

I am wanting something that points where I look in a .40 caliber fullstock flintlock with a 36 inch barrel. I am currently shooting a Vincent built by a friend years ago and love it. I just have the itch for a flintlock. In fact I would like one that fits just like my Vincent in a fullstock...

    TVM or TVM???

Several people have suggested I order a flintlock rifle from TVM. I am confused; there is a Tennessee Valley Muzzleloading and also a Tennessee Valley Manufacturing. They seem very similar on their websites. What is the story and which is the best?

    Patch lube recipes

I have used a mixture of 70% olive oil and 30% beeswax for years as my hunting lube. I also wipe all the metal on my guns with down with it. It makes a great leather treatment also. My grandfather used it on his horse tack. On the target line I use windex as a lube and also to run a cleaning...

    Narrow Shotgun Sling???

This is one of the Pedersoli short shotguns with real narrow .75 inch wide swivels. I need a sling that will adjust but be strong enough to hold the gun with such a narrow width sling.

    Smallbore tiny group blues ???

If I use lube and do not wipe between shots with my .32 I have the same problem. If I run a windex soaked patch between target shots it will group fine. Even when small game hunting I sometimes will wipe with a windex soaked patch between shots. Just something an old timer showed me a long...

    LOP Length of Pull

On a flat stock it is simple but on a radical crescent or curved butt I would measure the shortest measurement or the center of the stock butt. Others may do it differently.

    LOP Length of Pull

TG I agree with you 100% but being a stout fella I find my perfect lop changes. In Texas right now we are in tee shirts and in deer season when the blue northers blow in we will be wearing lots of clothes,my Vincent don't seem to fit the same at those times. As I go up and down in weight I...

    LOP Length of Pull

I keep hearing people say that rifle is 1/2 inch to long or to short length of pull. Or the measurement from the trigger finger to the bend of the elbow is your length of pull. That measurement is simply that, a measurement. I am a NSCA shot gunning instructor and fit shotguns to my students...

    Mule Ear or Sidehammer locks???

I used to have a little navy arms .32 slap hammer and it was a great little rifle. I shot a lot of varmints with that little gun and finally traded it for something else I wanted at the time. It was really to light to hold real steady off hand. I can not remember a time it failed to go off.

    Uberti .31 baby dragoon review

I recently put my .31 caliber pocket pistol through the paces and was quite pleased. It shot very well with #1 buck and 3F elephant black powder with number 11 CCI caps. I got very good groups at about 15 steps although a bit high. Windage was spot on but I had to have a six o'clock hold to...

    Cheap blackpowder kits

I think you will find part of the problem was with the drop in the worth of the American dollar, Spanish and Italian made firearms are no longer cheap. What I mean is quality is still no better than it was but they cost a lot more than they used to. Some Italian makers sell guns for more than...

    Thompson Center Cherokee Muzzleloader ...

The Cherokee has a fast twist barrel and does very well with 10-20 grains of 3F. I also use #1 buck and # 0 buck for cheaper shooting. The #0 has to be pounded in with a short starter. For hunting and plinking the #1 buck is plenty accurate. If you run across a .36 barrel please let me know...

    Barrels for Seneca?

If and when you find a Seneca or Cherokee barrel they are way over priced. I sold a .36 Seneca and have regretted it for years. I now have a .32 TC Cherokee and have been looking for a .36 barrel for a long time. I have seen a few but they wanted more than I can buy a new pedersoli .36 for...
