    TC Seneca Work Needed

Rat Trapper - Many Thanks for the Guns Works suggestion. Talked with a guy there and he has some ideas for a possible fix - he will have to take a look at it to see if it is worth a try.

    TC Seneca Work Needed

The barrel has a frozen nipple. Someone in the past had tried to drill out the stuck nipple and really messed up the plug - the rest of the barrel is OK. I got the barrel in a trade with a bunch of other TC Seneca / Patriot parts.

    TC Seneca Work Needed

Does anyone know of someone in the Houston or Dallas area that can swap out a breech plug on a TC Seneca barrel? Many Thanks for any replies.

    Ruger Old Army foresight....

I also needed a higher front sight for my ROA. A long time ago I contacted Ruger and they sent me the higher front sight replacement. The part number is MRO31011. Never got around to installing it - used JB Weld to build up the original - modified height is .350 (about 3/32" higher than the...

Ruger Old Army = need help!!

In reply to The German Check out my old posting of 04-17-07 Post # 398680. It goes into some detail of an easy / cheap POA fix from Ruger. It is a new higher front sight.

    Patriot Pistol

Not long ago I contacted TC asking for a detailed diagram of the Patriot trigger assembly. After a considerable amount of time they sent me a VERY general diagram of the whole pistol with no detail of the trigger assembly. Don't waste your time contacting TC for a detailed diagram of the...

    Ruger Old Army fixed sights

Before I got the higher pinned front sight I too use epoxy to build it up a bit (approximately 1/16"). Used scotch tape on the sides of the sight to act as dams to keep the epoxy from running all over the place. Epoxy worked great. However, the factory sight blade looks a little cleaner.

    Ruger Old Army fixed sights

I might have the answer for obtaining a higher ROA front sight. Check out my post located at http://www.muzzleloadingforum.com/fusionbb/showtopic.php?tid/205653/post/398680/hl//fromsearch/1/#398680 Worked for me and you can't beat the price.

    TC Patriots Parts

The inletting design of a Patriot lock is completely different than a Cherokee/Seneca lock. The Patriot lock plate is rather small and skinny. The Cherokee/Seneca lock plate is much larger than the Patriot. There is no way a Patriot lock would fit a Cherokee/Seneca stock and visa-versa.

    TC Patriots Parts

A clarification on the Patriot & Cherokee/Seneca locks. Yes, all three share the same hammer. However, the Patriot lock is different from the Cherokee/Seneca locks. The difference between the two lock designs is significant.

    Help with ROA, please.

I'm using regular CCI # 11 caps. Absolutely no problem with them always going off on the first whack.

    Help with ROA, please.

I've got a ROA and it is particular about the size of the caps. I suspect your caps are to small for the nipple and aren't fully seating. That results in having to hit them multiple times. Try some other caps that are a little larger on the inside. I don't think magnum v.s. standard is the...

    thompson center Patriot

This reply is a little late to help gocriter, but I did something a little different to my Patriot stock to strengthen the grip area up a bit. I drilled a hole (approximately 1/8" in diameter) starting in the tang area going down into the handle. Drilled as far down into the handle as I...

    TC Patriot

I shoot a Patriot 45 in competition and won a few blue ribbons with it. Other top shooters shoot a Patriot too. A Patriot is a tack driver with the right load. I only shoot 15 grains of 3F - don't need much for punching holes in paper at 25 yards. There aren't many Patriots around, but they...

    T/C Hawken Composite Stock?

I also have a Precision stock on a TC Hawkens. Bought it SEVERAL years ago. Wanted a plastic stock to replace a very nicely figured factory stock that I didn't want to ding up. I've looked and looked for another one and have tried to research its origin - with no luck. Even after all these years...

    Fiber Optic front sight

I swapped out the sights on a TC Hawkens with TC's FO sights - red dot in front and two green dots in rear. Replaced the original sights with no modifications needed. Wow - did they make a big improvement. They kind of glow. I have used hunter orange paint on the front sight, but the FO is MUCH...

    Competition Gun Advice Wanted

+ 1 on the TC Patriot. I've won several ribbons with one (a .45). Also, have shot a Ruger Old Army in competition, but much prefer the TC. TC hasn't made the Patriot for several years, but as Doubledeuce1 mentioned, they are out there - you just have to do some looking. They frequently pop-up...

What is a T/C patriot pistol worth?

I shoot 15 grains of 3F in my Patriot. However, I have to use some corn meal filler to get the ball past a sharp edge where the breach plug and barrel meet. Otherwise the sharp edge cuts the patch and I can't keep the ball on the paper. This load and a tight patched ball is VERY accurate.

    Gunsmith recommendations

I've been gathering pieces for a TC Seneca and have two barrels that each need some work. One has a stuck nipple - I've tried everything - no luck. The other barrel needs a new breach plug. Does anyone have a gunsmith recommendation for this kind of black powder work? I'd prefer someone in...

    ROA Front Sight Blade

I had the same problem with my ROA and had seen a posting on another web site that Ruger had a fix part available. I called Ruger and explained the situation and they sent me a new front sight (free of charge and no shipping charge). The part # is MRO3611. Boy, was I pleasently surprised...
