    sorry if i upset anyone, i have no problem in hunting for food,just the size of the target,the range of the shot,and what sounds like a docile farm animal that is used to human contact i see no sport in that.nuff said.i too love my hawken, i have 24 muzzle loaders and it is my favourite.

    hi everybody please do not take this the wrong way ,but i cannot see what pleasure anyone gets out of shooting an animal as big as a small car from around 50 yards it is certainly not sporting it just seems killing for killings sake maybee some people get a kick out of shooting a sitting target...

    hi you are making a great job of the gun,i have a wheelock pistol myself .wheelocks of any type are very hard to come by in england, in reenactment of the e.c.w.s the guns are usually doglock or matchlock.please post your progress its really interesting :thumbsup:

    for the money you cannot beat the indian made bess ,the quality has improved a lot.we shoot the long land pattern and have had no problems.the bayonet sometimes has to be worked on to get a good fit on individual muskets.in pounds stirling they are about £250 pounds.have a look at albion...
