    Local club planning to host

Those are some good ideas. Thank you. I really like the trail walk but we do not have a shooting range to accommodate that.

    Local club planning to host

My local sportsman club has been putting on 22 shoots for the past year and we are now planning a black powder shoot. With 22s we have been shooting 15 to 25 targets. That seems like a lot for black powder. Does anyone have any tips or target ideas that they would like to share?

    Ballistol first experience

I have used it on my modern guns too and also noticed alittle difference. The one thing that bugs me is how well it mixes with water. I can't bring my self to fully trust it to prevent rust on my firearms that I am not planning on using for an extended period of time.

    Unique? Patch ?

Due to a baby, my wife's health condition, and job situation muzzle loading has taken a back seat this past year. I'm getting back to it and I'm noticing that a lot of my ballistol lubed patch have dried out in what I thought was air tight zip luck bags. Question 1: Can I re-lube these...

    Patch Lubrication PROCESS ?

I am curious about other individual’s process they use for lubricating PRE-CUT patches using ballistol. I have used a 7 to 1 mix of water and ballistol. I use a shot glass to do the measuring. Then I rolled the shot glass over the top of the patches to get the excess out. The other night two...

How does every one organize their shooting bags? What do you use to hold your patches? What materials have you used to make your ball bag?

    Over Powder Wads

I’m intrigued, toilet paper, and poster board as over powder wads? I need to try this! What diameter are you making these wads? Are they square or round?

    I finally did it

Don't feel too bad. I'm new to muzzleloading (2 months) and I have dry balled twice.

    Red Hot Nipples

I just bought a #11,-.75 mm Red hot nipple and my GPR will not half cock when this nipple is installed. Anyone else use Red hot nipples? Anyone else have this problem? The Red hot nipple is a little longer than the factory nipple. Is there any adjustments that can be made?

    Newbie mishap

Wow! Thanks for the replies! Cowpoke1955: I am using Goex black powder. Silver Surfer: I’m glad to hear I’m not alone. My wife is never going to let me live this one down. Everyone: I’m getting a CO2 discharger. I have looked down the barrel with a flashlight and do not see a bulge but...

    Newbie mishap

New GPR 54 cal. second time out shooting. I went shooting today, and was in real deep thought when I loaded a ball and forgot the powder. I took my nipple out and put 10 grs. of powder (It ended up being less than 10 grs. after it was all said and done) into the barrel. When I fired the gun...

    Another BP ?

I just receive 10 lbs. of Goex black powder in the mail today. Will it be safe to store it in my garage as long as it is not in direct sunlight?

    New GPR Questions?

You made I good point there. Since this is my first muzzleloader I should take my time and get familiar with my gun and the overall process.

    New GPR Questions?

I just bought my first muzzleloader, a 54 cal GPR and the wedges have been a little hard to get in. Well the front one went in with a good amount of pressure but I'm scared to force the rear on in all the way. It's almost all the way in. Should I pound it the rest of the way in or not? My...

    GPR or Deerstalker

Bucktales The LOP on the GPR is my issue with it. Your right it is to long for me. My only problem with the trade rifle is the brass. I really like the way the GPR looks, I'm not sure that I trust my self to shorten the stock on my own. Would any gunsmith be able to do that or would I have...
