Have both the .45 and the .58 as well as a Deluxe. Have not shot them yet but always liked the quality and looks.

    Bismuth Availability and Use

From what I have read Heavy Shot is too hard to be shot bare while Bismuth is okay. Is this true?

    Bismuth Availability and Use

I am looking for Bismuth shot and would like to hear from folks that have used it. Thanks.

    Swiss Difference in .62/20ga.

You would think I would do just that but I had heard that Swiss was the rat's you know what so I thought since I had to order so much I had better get all the same stuff so it would last. I couldn't have imagined it not shooting as well as dirty old Goex. Normally I am the guy that seeks out...

    Swiss Difference in .62/20ga.

The only thing I can figure is that my two test guns don't like Swiss.

    Swiss Difference in .62/20ga.

I forgot. I also tried 1 1/2, 2,and 3F. This required several extended range sessions. All shooting was from the bench.

    Swiss Difference in .62/20ga.

Actually I was using Wonder Wads. I was pretty dissapointed at my results. I tried with wads, without, varied charges from 50 to 100 grs., 3 patch sizes, and no luck. I was getting one ragged hole at 50 yds. before I switched powder. Now it sprays patterns of several inches.

    Swiss Difference in .62/20ga.

I recently bought a batch of Swiss powder due to many recommendations. Previously I had been using Goex with satisfactory results. Now I am unable to achieve the accuracy I was getting before in my various .62 and 20ga. guns. I notice in another post that many folks are using .600 balls while I...

    Shot/Wad technique

So if Bismuth won't harm the bore then can I load it loose like lead?

    Shot/Wad technique

Do you think a pre-wrapped paper shot bag or paper shot cartridge would be the ticket? I am currently only using Wonder Wads with 2 over powder and one over shot. It works but I am a bit worried about non-toxic shot damaging my barrels. Any thoughts?

    hornady or speer roundballs?

I have been using the Speer balls for years. I have found them to be very consistent and extremely accurate. I once did a comparative test using Speer And Hornady in three different rifles and the Speer won. The Speer balls appear to be rounder and have a slicker surface. I use Speer in total...

cutting the patch at the muzzle?

I went to precut factory patches almost 30 years ago and never looked back. In competition or hunting they worked great and still do. I use swaged balls and Wonder lube whenever I can and I don't use a starter in the field if I can help it.

    Non Toxic Shot ?

I know there are some new products out there that might be the ticket. I'm worried that I may not find the answer in time for this season. What in the heck are all you waterfowlers using out there?

    Black Powder Dealer in FL

DixieFlinter: I also use 3F Goex for the .54 and under crowd. I am not one for swabbing the bore after each shot. The 2F has been fine for .62 up. I just don't want to miss out if there is something better now that I am at the point of needing what amounts to an order. I have shot at that...
