Well fellas, I certainly hope you alls weather forecasts calls for better squirrel hunting conditions than here. Cloudy with off and on rain here for days on end.

Oh well, gotta take it as it comes I reckon.
Looks like rain off and on all weekend here in East Tennessee. Thankfully, squirrel season runs through mid March.

No doubt, Anthony. Thank you for the report.

I’m hoping to find a little action soon, considering the late breeding season is December through February.

Took my 10 year old grandson for a little hunting adventure in a mix of cedar wooded/prairie. We saw a couple of cotton tails but no squirrels. Didn’t expect we would but a good time was had by both of us. He carried my double 12 with one barrel loaded and I had my 36 flint Traditions. We had done some additional shooting with some friends and used a variety of my muzzleloaders before the two of us took off. None of the others had shot muzzleloaders before.

That sounds like it was a good time for the both of you. Congrats. I like to see family take kids hunting.

Guys it bums me out the weather isn't being very cooperative for ya. It's cool and cloudy today. Went out this morning with Blondie, trying to get ne a deer or hog. Didn't see anything other than squirrels. One of them I thought about trying to Bark his butt. There were other hunters in the area, had a good idea where they were but I'm not taking any chances. I'm not sure how far that .530 ball would go.
I heard several shots, figured it must be someone squirrel hunting. I was right because after about 20 minutes of hear several shots I heard another shot from behind me, not real far away. Now I'm sitting in amongst some palmettos and I figure that was just to close. So I paked up. At the parking area was an old timer talking with a younger fella. Said hi, he told me he was trying to get some squirrels but no luck.
After getting home and putting my hunting gear away, I looked out the back door and out in the tree line was some squirrel activity. I looked over there was my Brittany .410 leaning in the corner, still loaded up from last weekend. Thought what the heck. Grabbed her ans snuck out back. I saw something move and it was a squirrel on the ground pushing her way though the leaves. She sat up looked around and pow I let her have it.
This my first shot with it and I got me squirrel. She had about 5 #6s that hit her. Mostly in the neck chest with one in the belly.

I truly hope that the weather picks up for y'all so ya can get out there.

Best to all of you.

Fellas, for a real challenge check the classifieds. This would really put you at the head of the class.

I could see a certain fella in Kentucky sneakin around those steep hills with this in his hand!!😁View attachment 371614
Awwwww. I sure could have used that a few times on wounded squirrels. I need to contact the First National Bank of Jim K.

J/K buddy. :)
