Maybe I'll have a good hunting report later today!šŸ¦ƒ
I hope so, Fred. You deserve it. Please give us a report.

Iā€™m hope you have better weather down there than we are getting here. Itā€™s just getting started, too. A lot of bad stuff heading our way.

Iā€™m having second thoughts on this. I laid in bed a couple of hours last night before I finally fell to sleep trying to come up with a solution for this. Came up empty handed.

The issue with a hanging a squirrel feeder would be balancing. Anywhere a squirrel would set while trying to eat would offset the balance bad and the feeder would lean to that side.

So, considering these would be temporary feeders, Iā€™m now considering making a couple out of a chunk of PVC pipe with caps on both ends. They would be attached to the tree vertically with a small hole near the bottom for feed to fall out. They would be gravity feeders like I have for deer. The top cap would not be glued on, only pushed down firm for easy removal to add feed. There would need to be some kind of small basin at the bottom to catch the food so it doesnā€™t pour out onto the ground. Also, adding a chunk of 2X2 horizontally for the squirrels to sit on would be needed.

These would be fairly small so even if a coon gets to them, thereā€™s not much they could do other than destroy it. If it that happens, then so be it. I wouldnā€™t be out much. There just happens to be plenty of old 4ā€ PVP pipe on the ground behind my garage. Thereā€™s even caps. Also have plenty of 2X2ā€™s.
What if you hung the pvc? Just like those tube bird feeders, have to be done with sch80 so itā€™s threaded. 2ā€

Good luck hunting Fred. As for us in N AL, we're battening down and ready to dive into the basement šŸŒŖļø .....
Hammer, check in bro. Hope youā€™re doing okay down there.

Looks like we are in between storms right now. New weather alert for wind gusts of 50 MPH until 0600 tomorrow morning. More on the way.

Okay fellas, something different for a change of pace.

To continue moving forward on my squirrel hunting gear, today I spent most of the day in my garage. Ive had this defunct Lone Wolf climber hanging in my garage for a couple of years now. Company went out of business so no parts available. So, I finally decided to put it to use and make a tree seat out of it.

Began by removing all the parts. Then marked and cut down the platform. Thatā€™s what was left.
