Will the Kibler .58 smooth bore barrel also shoot a .57 round ball?
Does it measure the same as the rifled .58 across the lands or across the grooves?
Mine measures .577. Been shooting both .570 and .565 balls out of it. The .570s I've been doing bare ball with one dry and one lubed felt wad. The .565 balls I've been using linen patches with. Both shoot just fine out to 50 yds with the patched ball having the edge. I can't remember who it is right now but someone on here has put up several jaw dropping groups using a .570 bare ball over a corn meal filler. Got some but haven't tried it yet.

I don't own this gun. I do mix 4f in with my 2f main charge on my Pedersoli 50 cal scout rifle because it has an antechamber. I think it would be a waste of pan powder to use only 4f in the main charge but I don't see it being anymore dangerous than a equal amount of grain from a coarser load like 2f. Just keep the powder load within the manufacturer load specs.
