Call it picky if you will but i've seen new rifles come from the factory an when a cleaning patch was run down the barrel it would come out dirty or might show some signs of light rust. All these things are important when buying a gun, new or used.
 
New guns come with a protective oil in the bore. Some of it looks like rust others look dirty. As long as it cleans up it's no big deal.
 
Yes, I've done business with Sam in the past and have never had an issue. Wanted to see this particular one put to rest. I should have chimed in earlier, but this is a sales forum?
 
Okay call me ignorant but what is the deal about the notch in the under rib. Don’t mean to hijack the thread just in familiar with this and I just built a GPR.
The notch would identify the rifle as an Invest Arm rifle. By the shape of the snail, I would say that it is made by Invest Arm
