Is there a support group for the addiction of buying muzzleloaders ?
If so I need to join, just unloaded the truck from estate sale adventure and realized I need to seek help.
I can't resist bidding on a Thompson Center muzzleloader, and unfortunately I've been winning.
How many muzzleloaders does one man need ? Does anyone else suffer from this affliction ?

Yes, and affording this affliction is becoming sketchy. I'm a little embarrassed to admit I've bought five guns within the space of a month. One just can't pass up opportunities to score something on the wanna list, now can one?

It's an un-curable disease! Just go with the flow! ;)

Afflicted by this disease called “addiction” when in fact it's very serious and incurable, I can only tell you one thing: you're irretrievably lost to the whole of humanity, and you'll end up in excruciating pain. In the meantime, may God have you in his holy keeping.
🤣🤣🤣

Do golfers not have more than one club? Do ladies not have more than one pair of shoes, one purse? No my friend, you do not have an addiction. If anything, you are a victim. You are merely trying to assimilate to societies standards. (Not sure how this defense will help, but buddy I tried)

I feel better now. If I can just repeat this with a straight face when my wife ask about the check to the auction.
It Aways starts the same, I go in quest of a rifle model I want for my collection, then as other models present themselves on the auction block and l find myself bidding.

It's curable fast become a dealer and depend on it to make a living. It will ruin your love of guns. They become a commodity and not something to enjoy.

It took me close to 10 years to love ML again and enjoy it. Now when I buy something it is for me and must fit a need. I have two flintlock rifles, one cap lock musket but have many smoothbores of both cap lock and flintlock. They are to restore to shooting to enjoy.

I'm slowly learning that poor shooting is a cure for more buying.
Speaking for myself, I'm gonna commit more time learning to shoot the guns I have well and do less building and buying.
A gun , no matter what it is, is only as good as the shooter and the more and different guns one shoots, makes the shooter less effective.

had to laugh at the "Suffer" part. I throuroughly enjoy this addiction. the icey daggers that my bride of 54 years stares at me when another Loooong box, crate, carton shows up via the big brown truck, is the only part i could do without. Oh Heck! I am lying. she gave me the check book and didn't even check the amount i wrote for parts the other day.
If i was only addicted to muzzleloaders it would be bad enough. I am addicted to anything that goes bang. and not a few things that don't bang but still propels something down range. like a full auto air rifle. makes my heart thump thinking about. There is only one cure. Muerte.

I laughed at myself while I wrote it, so not sure how easy it will be to repeat it under scrutiny of upper management. Just remember "who dares wins."
